Dr. Candace Lynn Walkley, MD

I seen her a few times the first few times she was good. I went to her I had a pain in my left side, I had went a few times complaining about it I asked her to do a CT Scan because I had cancer before and something didn't feel right. She told me there was no need to do so, that because I had cancer I have bad anxiety and think I'm always sick. I ended up calling my cancer doctor after she refused to look into to pain on my left side. My cancer doctor did test I asked for that was a CT scan come to find out the bottom part of my lungs had collapsed. When I went back to her just to tell her what they found she didn't want to talk about it and change the subject. I switched doctors I need a doctor that going to listen to there patients. No one that think she know your body better then you do.

Candace Walkley is the most condescending person I have ever met. I would never recommend anyone to see her.

I had back surgery in 2014 and 2015 and have continued to suffer from pain. Recently started experiencing severe back pain and needed a referral to nero surgeon. My wife call the office number and went through the progress to get a referral. I also needed a referral for an MRI. When I requested the MRI Dr. Walkleys office informed me that she would not approve the referral and wanted to know how I got the referral to the nero surgeon. I was told that Dr. Walkley did not approve the referral and they were upset that it had been approved. I was SHOCKED to know that Dr. Walkley and her medical assistant were upset that I had received a referall. I thought the concern should be my medical condition and they cared 0 about my medical condition!!! The medical assistant told me that she would look at the situation and call me the next day. That was a week ago and no call!!! I have also seen her two times as a patient and appreciated her straight forwardness and no non sense… manner. I now wonder if the straight forwardness and no non sense manner was just a lack of care and concern.

I have seen Dr Walkley three times now and I totally trust her with my physical wellness. She is very knowledgeable and cares about my health. Dr Walkley is very personable, and she asks all the right questions to determine my needs. Out of the dozen or more doctor's that I have seen in my lifetime, there have only been two that I totally felt comfortable talking to. She is one of those two. I hope she will be around a long time.

I have only seen Dr. Walkley twice, I found her to be very efficient, concerned and caring. She spent a great deal of time with me my first visit being very through going over all my medications and examining me. I am on Medicare and know doctors are paid next to nothing for Medicare patients. I try when I see a doctor to state my problem quickly and allow the doctor to move on with her next patient. I assumed the next visit would be very quick since she had spent a long time the last visit. However, I was surprised as she did not rush me and once again listened and treated my problem. I know anyone can have a off day, give her a break, she is a good doctor.

I came to Dr. Walkley after being declined by another doctor; not accepting new patients. I'm so thankful. I don't feel I could find a better fit. She is plain spoken, no reading between the lines, no gray areas. You will leave with full information and the confidence needed for a long term patient/doctor relationship.

I am Dr. Walkley, and I would like to respond to one of the comments above, in brief. It is VERY important that when a patient is in a critical mental health state, they receive treatment from the most highly skilled professional, particularly when their mental health diagnosis is a specialty disorder. It is inappropriate for a primary care physician to be adjusting and prescribing highly skilled psychiatric medications, and I will stand by that until I quit practice. The patient was upset because I insisted on her receiving the highest and most specialized level of care. I would have a fit if I discovered a psychiatrist was adjusting somebody’s heart meds. The same level is respect is due the mental health field. I was required to provide a rating before comment would be accepted, so I chose “fair,” which I feel is most neutral.

I would not even give her 1 star if that was an option. I've seen her for 3 issues. The 1st time was for psychiatric issues. She refused to assist me with a simple medication adjustment. Had she read my chart, she would've seen that my normal provider had me on similar dosages in the past. She said she would refer me. Instead, she sent her nurse in with a post-it note of 2 psychiatric inpatient phone numbers. I was not decompensated to the point that I would even be eligible for an inpatient admission. I saw another provider from the same office days later and she quickly helped me with the med adjustment without issue. I recently saw her for a follow up from an ER visit for possible cardiac issues. She set me up with a holter monitor and echo, which could not be completed for 3 more days. I had the echo 8 days ago and still have not received the results. I called the office in tears 3 days ago to get the results as I am continuing to experience issues. I was forced to… leave a message and have yet to receive a call back!!! No call to even let me know WHEN I would possibly receive the results or to reassure me that the results would be coming! I would NOT recommend for anyone to see her, particularly if you are experiencing potential life-threatening issues. My boss also saw her for an issue and reported that she behaved as if she knew everything and he felt she did not listen to his complaints. Please see ANY other provider at the office except her.

My mother went in to get her joint pain looked at. Ended up now pending possible cancer diagnoses and still nothing being done or even diagnosed about the the arthritis. Which if she listened to her patience story about their life would know she has arthritis/ or joint damage from the injuries she has occurred through her life. Have basically been told by the lack of being told anything that she is just going to have deal with something she has been for 19 years already. Wow this is effecting her work and lifestyle and I just feel like arthritis is a voodoo word that just is not be said. I know there is something that can be done and was depending on the dr. to there job. Feel completely let down on this and still haven't got any results.

I would recommend Dr. Mitchell for any patient. She really showed heart for me when others wouldn't. Thank you Dr. Mitchell for taking my case personally.
