Dr. Cara Anne Streit, MD

I was supposed to schedule an important surgery,for something that that has kept me so sick for so many years,and after my in office with cara,she called me to tell me the diagnosis,but sounded like a completely different person; she was so incredibly fake nice ,acting as if if she was giving me good news,when I saw her in office she had zero personality. So I thought that was off,but what really did it was when I simply called the Tahoe Gorest Womens Center to ask to switch doctors to Peter Taylor,I get a phone call back stating that they are discharging me from their practice.. I thought that we’re supposed to be comfortable and have trust in the person who is going to do surgery on us,not get ostracized by the whole Womens center,just for asking for a different doctor. Put your pride and ego aside Cara,you’re so very unprofessional and you’re not a good person. Find another career where your apathy can shine; because you’re definitely not in the right career with how you ‘treat’… your patients. You really should be ashamed of your behavior and your personality in general (or lack there of,rather). Shame On You! Shame on you Tahoe Forest Womens Center….

She is the reason I left the only OB practice in town. She physically hurt me twice during an examination when I was 7 months pregnant, suggested an unsafe procedure that was later confirmed was unsafe by another DR in her practice, and has made a few other mother friends of mine cry from her comments about their weight gain during pregnancy. She has received MANY complaints about her at the Truckee OB practice. She is just AWFUL!

Dr. Streit has always taken her time and explained things to me and made sure I have any questions answered. She's caring and sharp and very knowledgeable. She's been great as well collaborating with other doctors to make sure I'm getting the best care.

I found Dr Cara to be very understanding considerate and informative I was very pleased with my appointment

I'm only giving her a fair rating instead of poor, because she did figure out a perplexing issue I had during my pregnancy. Otherwise, I found her bedside manner fake and uncaring. When doing a physical examination on me at 7 months pregnant, she didn't even warn me she was about to start feeling around my stomach to find out baby's position. Instead she JAMMED two fingers very hard into my uterus above my pubic bone, and I nearly jumped off the table in pain. She said sorry, then did it again! I physically pushed her hand off me and was quite traumatized and hurt from her roughness. I WILL NOT be continuing care with her. I could not believe her lack of awareness at how sensitive women's bodies are during pregnancy. It was so traumatizing for me that I decided it was very important to write this review for other women out there, a thing that I never have done before.
