Dr. Caren Lynn Borjeson, DO

Went in to see her for a surgery consult, I felt very comfortable and she answered all of my questions. I will definitely be recommending her to friends and family.

Please do not go here. The office engages in insurance fraud and over-billing. First new patient visit was billed to my insurance at over $400, which is ridiculous because I've seen other surgeons who bill a new patient half that. Dr. Borjeson immediately wanted to do surgery on my unresolved hematoma. I asked to drain it first and she barely tried. When I expressed my concern for scaring considering the area, her response was, "you have enough tissue there". I am curvy and a little out of shape from working from home but I am in no way obese, plus I am 40. I don't think it's out of line to be concerned about scars. More red flags when the surgery scheduler pulled out a book and proceeded to write my info into a calendar with pencil... who isn't paperless these days?? I cancelled my surgery and went to the same surgeon who removed my gallbladder at Desert Surgical Specialists, who said considering the area we definitely need to avoid surgery. He sent me to the Radiology dept of… HonorHealth who drained it all via CT scan. This was not even offered by Dr. Borjeson. Then the explanation of benefits comes in for the couple of minutes not really trying to drain my hematoma - over $500. Then I get a call wanting me to come in for test results. I'm like, can't those be given over the phone? So the office said Dr. Borjeson can call and I was not warned at all that there would still be an office visit charge. Well this call lasted 2 min & 2 seconds (per cell phone record) where she claims the cells were abnormal and surgery is needed. I said I would think about it (my Radiology appt was the next week). My insurance was billed for a 20-29 minute tele-visit phone call at almost $200. I immediately reported this to my insurance for fraud. I then remembered hearing her on the phone when I was waiting for the flunkie drain procedure. She made multiple calls within about 10min. What if ALL of those people are billed like I was?? Raking in huge illegal insurance $$$. When I questioned the claim with the office only then did they submitt a corrected claim. I know a doctor's time is valuable but I have NEVER been charged for a test results phone call. And even more interesting, after the real drain was done in Radiology and that fluid tested, nothing abnormal. So I then asked her office to settle on my portion the flimsy drain attempt and I would get a call the next week. No call. So I call Billing, to the one girl I was supposed to talk to, but she never answers and sends calls straight to voicemail. The voicemail says she can take texts. Only via text will she answer. I asked about a possible settlement. She texts back 20min later that Borjeson will not settle because the results were abnormal cells. What a joke. I am not sure if I will pay the office or hire a lawyer - she's been in business over 20 years so I guess insurance fraud is not as concerning as I learned in paralegal school?? Either way, I will be posting anywhere I can to warn people. Overall I guess I am luckily I trusted my instinct because I could be disformed right now from unneeded surgery.

I was fortunate enough to have been referred to Dr. Caren Borjeson. Dr. Borjeson's attention to detail, her knowledge, and specialized abilities made my life and procedures so much easier. Her insticntual abilities to see and diagnose an issue that many have missed is a great comfort. Oh yes, a great doctor and surgeon.

Professional. Punctual. Thorough.

Dr. Borjeson has preformed 3 surgeries on me, from 2010 - 2018. I love her staff, I love her bedside manner, she listens and explains clearly what is going to happen and what my recoveries would be like. I couldn't recommend anyone else. AAA+++++

Told me before surgery that I had had a heart attack which was not true. She butchered my chest all up.

I've had several procedures performed by Dr. Borjeson. She is a kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable surgeon. An absolute professional.

Terrible bedside manner and not even an apology when made to wait almost 1.5 hours after appointment time.

Went to Dr. Borjeson, to see about having her remove my thyroid due to cancer. dropped her pen 3 times, seemed very nervous and incompetent. She didn't take much time explaining or answering my questions. Left her office with a very uneasy feeling. After researching, I have decided to find another surgeon.

She's literally perfect.
