- Internal Medicine
An internist is a physician who focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions that affect the adult population—both acute and chronic.
These doctors are often who adults see as their primary physicians because they treat a broad range of illnesses that do not require surgical or specialist interventions. They also work to help a patient maintain optimal health in order to prevent the onset of disease.
In addition to treating the common cold and flu, internists also treat chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

I too find her pleasant enough. However, I feel I have to make suggestions regarding lab work. I will come in for a "required" visit and she will ask "why are you here?" Getting a prescription filled is nothing but a run-around. It seems too complex --- good luck calling this place, the phone tree in on purpose confusing. I have left messages asking a call back... days, weeks go by. I continue to request a call back, and then when you do get someone, "oh no, we didn't get a message. what do you need?". I agree with the other person who wrote the review, if you are not sick, yeah, you can go to her. But if you are sick, I would recommend someone else. One last thing. She is an "internist". So you are paying MORE for her advice. But as someone else said, the smallest thing, she will refer you onto someone else, then you have an additional office visit. She seems to be able to handle only the minimal things, yet she is an INTERNIST and you are paying MORE!!!!! Personally, I've decided to go elsewhere as well.
Carijean is pleasant woman and I believe she tries to listen and appear compassionate. However, she doesn't think outside the box as is the problem with many healthcare professionals these days. If you complain of certain symptoms she will send you to a specialist or run a couple of routine tests.. If the test comes back normal she throws her hands up and says there must not be anything wrong and leave it at that. On another note, Dr. Queen does not order the proper blood work for certain health conditions. If you have a thyroid disorder do not go to this doctor. She will not keep up with the proper thyroid blood work nor request the labs at the correct intervals. My intitial visit with this doctor was just fine. Her follow up care is very poor. Scheduling is a joke. My insurance denied a refill because Dr. Queen failed to keep up the proper lab work during my "follow up" visits. After calling the office several times to schedule I was finally able to talk to someone to explain the situation. They obviously did not understand the seriousness of missing a dose of my rx as I could not get in for a month. I plan on looking for another primary care physician. If you are healthy and don't have any serious health conditions feel free to go to this doctor. She has a pleasant personality and you will probably be fine. However, if you are a more complex case. Pick someone else!
