Dr. Carlos Daniel Martinez Balzano, MD

My mother went to Dr. Balzano at Kaiser's Pulmonary Department for a procedure to drain liquid for a pleural effusion. During this procedure, Dr. Balzano punctured her right lung, causing a traumatic lung collapse (pneumothorax). She was wheeled directly from his office to the ER. She had to stay in the hospital for 3 nights and still has lasting effects. Her collapsed lung and hospital stay were a direct result of his medical error. This experience was physically painful and emotionally traumatic for her. She is now unable to fly for two months or lift anything over 20lbs for a month. Definitely do not recommend; we have filed a formal grievance with Kaiser. This was a serious matter and should be treated as such. Be careful of him; no doctor should be causing physical pain and lasting effects to their patients.

I was seen by this man in Tampa. It was a disappointing appt because he wouldn't listen to me, tried tricking me with questions, and he was just a pain to deal with. Apparently, I was not alone in my reactions because he no longer works in Tampa. Supposedly a big hurrah was heard there!
