I don't think I have ever said I "enjoyed" going to a doctors appointment, much less my gynecologist. In order for this to make sense, I have to describe the encounter. When I walked in for my appointment, I was greeted by a very bubbly sweet young girl. She had my information ready, knew who my primary care doctor was and just needed to verify some information. She checked on me a few times while I was filling out my paperwork and I was then called back. Again, I was greeted by a funny nurse asking me "How excited I was to be there" which immediately broke the ice. She introduced herself, and to my surprise it was Dr. Salup's wife bringing me back. I was taken aback at first since I was just admiring all of her photography in the reception area. Mrs. Salup spent quite a bit of time taking my history, listening, and asking questions. Real questions, not standard questions. She even asked me what my children's names are. When I met Dr. Salup, he was amazing. I was able to meet him and discuss my concerns prior to getting undressed. I truly appreciated his respect for me by talking to me one on one first. The reason for this is to review him as a doctor, and I will say he is a great doctor. He listened to what my issues were. Then explained what the best options were for me and my history; along with the best order. The exam was uneventful and normal. Dr. Salup knew I was nervous and answered more of my questions. At the end of the visit, Mrs. Salup came in to see if I had any more questions. She saw the look on my face and could tell I was concerned. She listened to what my concerns were, and immediately got on the phone with my prior doctors office to get my old records as well as the hospital were I had my procedures. Even the ones back home she called to ease my mind! As I was walking to my car, I heard someone calling my name. Mrs. Salup was running towards me with a piece of paper. She handed me her personal cell phone number. Telling me if I got home and thought of anything, or when I was talking to my husband I was more than welcome to call her. Since that appointment, I have been there many times. Each time I am treated with the same kindness, the same one on one attention, and what impresses me is that they are like this with everyone! It IS the only doctors appointment I can't wait to go to.
