You should be getting a second opinion regardless, but I highly encourage anyone seeing a psychiatrist to seek multiple opinions before subscribing to a diagnosis. I was misdiagnosed by this doctor for almost 10 years, and was put on medication that ended up causing more health issues for literally no reason. It’s partially on me as I should have asked more questions, but please do yourself a favor and do not “settle” on a diagnosis until multiple independent doctors give you the same diagnosis

Treating chronic depression is not easy.
