Dr. Njeri Maina, MD

I arrived on time for my appointment and was taken back quickly, but waited about 40 minutes to be seen. I went in for evaluation of a severe allergic reaction involving facial swelling, burning/itching, and bumps that caused me to miss three days of work. During the appointment, I explained that I had recently started taking supplements, mainly for fertility support, and that the reaction began shortly after using hand sanitizer and touching my face. Instead of discussing this professionally, Dr. Maina repeatedly criticized and appeared to make fun of the supplements and ingredients I mentioned, which felt dismissive and unprofessional. I was also disappointed by the lack of communication and professionalism regarding testing. When I scheduled the appointment, I was told I would be tested that day. However, during the visit, Dr. Maina dismissively told me that she would not be doing any testing that day and instead directed me to the front desk for information about patch testing… requiring multiple future appointments and additional costs. In the end, I paid $200.83 out-of-pocket for the visit and left without testing or clear answers regarding the cause of my reaction, and drove myself home crying.

Dr. Maina is a fantastic doctor. Her care/concern for her patients health has become abundantly clear to me as she and her team have gone above and beyond to bring myself a much higher quality of life through her treatments. Amazing what she did to get my insurance company to approve treatments and drug manufacturers to help with remaining balance. She has been spot on with her diagnoses and treatment plan. I highly recommend this doctor as you will find no better.

She’s a very intelligent doctor. She knows what she’s talking about. She is a doctor that listen and very knowledgeable. I thank God for her. She has been taken care of My Son for the last three years. He has been doing excellent in school the last three years with her help before we meet her he was missing a lot of school. She got him on that asthma allergy shot and he’s been doing very well so we thank you for taking care for him

We enjoyed our visit with Dr. Maina. She was very thorough and explained things very well to me and my husband. She has a unique way of breaking down complex information in a way that is easy to understand. In addition to that, she has a great bedside manner with children. My boys asked if they could come back to see her. :)
