Dr. Carolyn M Jachna, MD

I have nothing good to say about this doctor. I put my trust in her, and she harmed me. Absolutely missed the correct diagnosis for my condition, and prescribed medication that caused irrecoverable damage to my health. The effect on my family, my young children, has been devastating. Words that come to mind when I look back on my appointments with her: careless, unaware, thoroughly unthorough, not at all knowledgeable about medications she prescribes, insufficient drive, insufficient dedication, and insufficient intelligence. I was referred to her by another doctor who called her a serious doctor. In retrospect, maybe I misunderstood the other doctor, and maybe what he really said was "she's seriously bad". The things I remember most: her dismissing my concerns when they turned out to be the things pointing to the core medical issues, and her getting irrate when I pointed out gaps in her arguments/diagnoses. Things just did not add up; the facts did not fit her arguments. … When I politely pointed this out she became angry. I brushed it off as the result of a hard day (I recognize doctoring can be trying) but as it turned out, I was right, and her inattention to the matter is what led to me being harmed. The other very memorable thing that I wish I recognized it for what it really meant at the time was how she seemed to think 5 minutes of her time was adequate effort. I kind of felt like she was a "part time doctor". That is, not all in when it comes to caring for patients. Not willing to go the necessary distance. I had the distinct feeling that she rushed to a diagnosis out of convenience to herself. I thought to myself, "How could she come to this conclusion when I feel she barely has a grasp of the facts". It turns out my feeling was right: she did not have a grasp of the facts, she is not the kind of doctor who will put in the necessary effort. She'll do what is easy, but beyond that, forget it. I have since learned that having such a feeling is a clear sign thay you should get the heck out and find another doctor. Wish I knew that before she harmed me.

the office is great. Her nurse is very unfriendly and terse.

She is very thorough, compassionate, and spends time listening to and explains how to proceed.

Dr. Jachna asks good questions and is always thorough regarding my care. She is informative and brings to my attention healthy habits which are relevant to patients at my age and in my condition. She is always very professional and provides me good medical advice. I feel confident that I am getting excellent care with her.

Dr. Jachna was condescending and brusque. I waited more than an hour to see her, and then she was rushed and frequently interrupting me when I tried to answer her questions. She wasted more time during the visit by asking me questions which I had already fully answered on the papers I filled out prior to the visit. I was extremely dissatisfied & would not recommend Dr. Jachna to anyone.

How she EVER go a 3.5 star rating is beyond me. Where do I start with my review? How about the rudeness of her staff (namely Rachel at the front desk). Or the COMPLETE LACK of a bedside manner from Dr. Jachna, Or better yet, her prescribing the wrong prescriptions for me and costing me $624 for a prescription that should have only cost me $20 and made it MY problem!!!! I even confirmed with THREE pharmacists that the medicine she prescribed me was a different medication and she told me she was just changing the dosage!! I would NEVER, EVER, EVER recommend Dr. Jachna! Honestly,,DO NOT waste your time with her or her rude staff! I am telling EVERYONE I KNOW not to go to her! Absolutely the most ridiculous excuse for a doctor I have ever come across! I rated her the lowest possible score in ALL categories because this is JUST how bad my experience was!!!

I read the other reviews here and had to wonder if those individuals went the same doctor as me. The doctor I saw matches the picture above, but not the reviews. If you want a doctor that shoots from the hip, does no research, apparently does not read medication side effect information, and is little more than a pill dispenser, then she's the one for you. Not the one for me though. Seems like a nice person, and so are the staff (that's the only reason I gave her 2 stars overall rather than 1) - just not a good doctor in my opinion.

I've only seen Dr. Jachna once but was very pleased with her. Dr.Jachna was very friendly and listened to everything I had to say without making me feel rushed. I tried 3 other Dr's before her and didn't care for them.. She has a very sweet temperament.. I believe I have found my new Dr.. I would recommend her to friends ..

Dr. Jachna listened carefully to my description of symptoms and responded in a thoughtful and knowledgeable way. After I left she researched my symptoms further and called me to request a particular test. The results of this test were very informative and led to successful treatment. The illness is very unusual in a patient like myself and Dr. Jachna was very astute to recognize it when many others did not. I am so appreciative. She seems to be very intelligent and caring.
