I found myself in the ER after experiencing greater than usual lower back pain that has persisted for 4 years after a zipline fall. Dr. Lyon recommended an alternative to my usual opioid meds (ultram I think is the brand name) and it has been amazingly helpful. Although it didn't completely knock out the pain, it reduced the inflammation like nothing else. It just sucks I had to go to an ER to be exposed to such a great alternative medication! I'm slowly moving from the percocet to ultram by reducing daily intake by 1 pill per week. That's how you get off pain meds safely without feeling like total crap, but most doctors don't seem to think that's possible. Some of us that are on these meds, would LOVE NOT to be, but you got to at least offer the alternatives! The reason I can't give 4 stars is I ended up having to go back and forth from the ER to the Phx 3 times as the RX had incorrect info. In fact, the second time I got 2 rx for percocet! (and yes, I returned the second one) and I… guess they thought something shady might be going as they called the pharmacy to make sure I was legit I guess...not sure of what I could be doing wrong, but whatever. It's Florida.
