Dr. Carolyn J Presley, MD

Dr Presley was my father's oncologist from Oct 2023-April 2025 when he unfortunately lost his battle. The reason for the low rating is because of her lack of concern. It should have been a major red flag, but we ignored it because we thought maybe we were the ones not communicating properly. However, routine heart testing was missed while he went through his first round of treatments and he ended up with heart failure. While we didn't blame her for the heart failure, her lack of care made it too difficult to figure out what caused the heart failure per 2 different heart specialists. He was also back and forth between ICU and step down rooms at the James for a month. When doctors from the ICU or the Rhoades would reach out to her, she did not respond (per them). She didn't come to see him once, she didn't call him, etc. I don't know the proper protocols with all this but as her patient, he felt unheard or disregarded by her. In the end, she proved him right.
