Dr. Caryn Eileen Selick, MD

She stole me away from the other Dr. In the office. Appeared impressive. Bit absolutely not. Big mistake switching to her . I have to finally admit it. Bit I think she might have hurt me. My vagina was burning like crazy the following day. When I went for an ultra sound. And before that well. Can't really say. She was sarcastic when I questioned possibly of having a baby . at about 40.. Though not practical she was flippant. But that's the least. She appeared impressive. But something was not right in the end. I don't even think she educated me on menopause and peri menopause. Though I didn't actually experience menopausal symptoms later on. But did have numerous health issues. And Pror Excruciatingly painful periods. Again in the end I think I was hurt. Had incrediable vaginal burning the day after I saw her. I had scheduled an ultrasound on that day if I remember correctly. ???? Ok. I finally said it out loud.

BUYER BEWARE In my one and only experience with this doc (I never went back), she recommended unnecessary tests/treatments. She recommended hormone replacement therapy and a bone density test (she owns the machine conveniently located in her office!) before knowing anything about me and my history. (I have very strong bones and knew that going in.) Furthermore, she "accidentally" submitted my visit as out of network without a referral resulting in my having to shoulder most of the fee. A bad experience all the way around.

Dr. Selick does not take phone calls and insists on making appointments so she can collect her copay. She made an error in how she submitted my claim to my insurance company which caused the claim to be denied. She would not rectify the claim submission despite the fact that my insurance company said that all she had to do was to change the code because the reason I saw her was covered.

I spend 9 months with this doctor treating undiagnosed infertility. I did dozens of tests and every time I had a question i had to schedule consultation because Dr. Selick does not take emails or calls. Hence I had to waste 3 hours of my work day since I have never waited less than an hour in her office. After 9 months, she still didn't know my file, every time the same questions and we didn't make any progress over this period. I am happy to say I moved on to a new doctor and for 2 weeks with him i have already been diagnosed and have a treatment lined up! Don't waste your time!

I have been so happy with Doc. Selick! I tried three different fertility specialists and offices before I found her and she was the nicest and most professional, as well as every single staff member in her office. She got me pregnant with my son who I gave birth to a year ago and I am now working with her on my second. She was very patient with me and took her time explaining the process, her offices are the warmest and most cheerful of all the ones I've been in and made me feel better than any of the others. I didn't have to wait any longer than any other doctors office I've been to and her office is very clean. I don't know why there are such bad reviews about her and I'm glad I didn't see them before or I would have missed out on a great doctor. She was trying everything to avoid surgery with me until it was the last resort, and she did everything so we don't waste my precious embryos. I can go on and on about how great she is... Most sincerely!

I had an appointment with Dr. Selick for a a hormonal problem (she's also an endocrinologist). Unfortunately, she was the only available endocrinologist that accepted new patients without having to wait for 2 months for an appointment -BIG MISTAKE. I was scheduled at 10 and she was only able to see me at 11:30. The appointment lasted for exactly 10 minutes. She did not take the time to answer any questions and just rushed me out of her office. Of course on the medical claim it shows up as initial appointment and I was charged for 1+ hours. A month later when I had to follow up with her I got the same "premium" service from her staff. They kept me on hold for 20 minutes and when I was finally able to speak to her nurse the conversation only lasted for 2 minutes because she wasn't providing any advice and just like dr. Selick she had the same extremely bad attitude. Please stay away even if she's the last doctor in NYC.

I saw Dr. Selick for infertility a few years back. When going through the process of infertility your judgement is clouded, and you overlook/accept things that would be out of line if you were thinking with a clear head. Dr. Selick is all about the money, willing to do unnecessary tests and charges extraordinary amounts of money. After I left her practice she accused my new doctor of stealing her customer. Also had me scared that I had "bad egg quality" I guess to keep me coming for IUI's when my problem was of a whole different spectrum.

I was a patient of Dr. Selick for more than 10 years. I had chronic conditions that she monitored. In the last six months service by both Dr. Selick herself and her staff has deteriorated to the point where I've made the decision to cut ties with her completely. Its too bad that she won't discuss any of the long standing issues at her office. She simply ignores them.

dr selick is both a professional and no nonsense person, as is her staff, but with warmth.
