Dr. Catalina Orozco, MD

I went for a follow up visit for my mri, and was told on my 2nd visit that my secondary Medicaid QMB insurance was no accepted. The problem with that is that by federal law if you accept the primary medicare advantage plan, you have to accept the QMB. The receptionist would not believe me when I told her that. She would not believe the website when I showed it to her. She would not believe United healthcare when they talked to her on the phone. Therefore, I did not see the doctor. I left, went to my car, and cried. Most people feel discouraged by the time they get an appointment with a rheumatologist, because they’ve already seen other specialists. After dealing with the receptionist at this practice, I feel even more discouraged. The doctor is amazing, but her front office staff ruins it all.

I'm so happy that I met Dr. Orozco. I've been dealing with all kinds of issues in the last few years and I've been desperate to find the right doctors to deal with many issues. I've been lucky enough to find the right neurologist and gastrologist that are now on board with Dr. Orozco to help treat their areas of expertise. She will be the main doctor to oversee it all. I highly recommend her as she's (and the other two) are the only doctors that will listen and try to get to the bottom of these symptoms/illness's. Others just want to tell me that everything is "normal" and all the things happening are normal agings and this is my "new normal" then write me more prescriptions!

Dr. Orozco is the first doctor that sat down and truly listened to all of my health problems and mapped a formidable plan to help me. I have been struggling with chronic pain since 2015. I've seen countless doctors, had surgery, had false diagnosis's, but Dr. Orozco has changed my life. After listening to her recommendations, I am living a new life. I recommend everyone go see her. She is a great listener, very caring, and a phenomenal physician.

Dr. Orozco has a good bedside manner and seems to care about her patients; however, there are some issues with her staff and communication with her. At one point, I had an MRI done and placed a call in to her assistant. I get a call back and she starts talking about a completely different ligament! I guess she called the wrong patient. She literally had no idea of what she was taking about. It was up to me to figure out. Refills are ridiculously difficult to get processed. I have run out of medication while waiting for them to send in a SIMPLE refill. Additionally, I have called the office on numerous occasions about medical issues that had come up. I was lucky if I got a call back half of the time. This is unacceptable. Finally, I feel like her scope of knowledge is questionable. I am a complicated patient so others might not have this impression.

Initial treatment was good but later Dr. Orozco's diagnosis and treatment did not help anymore.

Takes a thorough history and gives a thorough exam for new patients. Never rushes. Offers explanations and answers questions easily. Great follow up. Highly recommended.
