Dr. Chandrasekharan Nair, MD

Dr. Nair has been my neurosurgeon for 15 years. He has always been thorough and expert at the spine surgeries and fusions I have had. He was always checking in on me during my two hospital stays. He is semi-retired and I'm sorry to hear that.

I have been seeing Dr. Nair for going on 16 years..and I love him and his staff.he is my doctor untill one of us retires.

I felt like I had to write a review for Dr. Nair. I had read the previous reviews, which made me nervous. First, his office is neat and clean with nice black & white photography. Secondly his staff could not be nicer or more accommodating. Finally & most importantly, Dr.Nair could not have been better. He spent a lot of time with me explaining the disc problem that had left me debilitated. He explained all of the options & helped me make an educated decision. The surgery went completely as planned I was immediately out of pain and felt great. Dr. Nair checked on me in the hospital. Actually the O.R. Nurse that took care of me was a very satisfied patient of Dr. Nair. I would defiantly recommend Dr. Nair to everyone.

Dr. Nair is a down to earth person that you can talk to. The surgery wasn't a success but that was because of an infection. In this day and age I am not sure how that happens with all the precautions that they take.

Dr. Niar did a cervical fusion on my neck. The fusion was a mess and had to be revised by a real surgeon. They told me that the fusion was a disaster and could not understand why he used such a cheap plate .The screws were not enough to stabilize my neck either and should have had 6 screws instead of 4. He also ruined the nerve on the left side of my throat and it had to be repaired. When I would go to see him about it he blamed it on everything except the real issue. He told me I had this syndrome and that syndrome. It turned out that it was all untrue. Once he has ruined your spine, he will just discard you. He could care less once he has been paid. I cant believe someone referred me to him. Good luck, you will need it!

I would definitely not recommend Dr. Nair to anyone. His office was filthly, with a desk and shelving that apparently hadn't been dusted in a year. The chairs in his waiting room had nasty seat stains.He was completely uncaring and unsympathetic to my chronic pain. He had no idea what was wrong. He told me to go to a shoulder specialist (which I have already done) and Johns Hopkins and/or get a complete work-up on my nerve. The worst thing was when he told me I should "Get on with my life" as if I enjoyed being operated on with no results!!! You definitely do not want him as your doctor. I was appalled that I had been referred to him.

Dr.Nair is a wonderful doctor...It is only because of him and his quickness in getting me to surgery that I am walking...he even came and sat in the emergency room waiting room with me...I was totally impressed...in fact I re-herniated my back and am on my way to see him again...I have total trust in him and cannot thank him enough.
