Dr. Charles Joseph Bruhn, MD

This quack should be avoided at all costs. He allowed a small cyst to grow in the scar tissue of a thyroidectomy for 5 years when I finally had it removed the cancer has spread into my voice box and during surgery the surgeon paralyzed it by Nicking the nerve avoid this quack he denied all of it I almost threw him out a window

He is just an Okay Doctor. He is rude and expects you to get over your problems. His staff is worse than him. The staff ignored me and continued to work on her computer when I asked her to explain the answer to my question the second time. She would not give me a clear answer. Unfortunately, they have no respect of the patients time and their own. I will most definitely not be coming back and not be recommending him to any one in my circle.

I was diagnosed with a nodule on my thyroid. I had two biopsies which came back inconclusive. I had two blood tests that were normal and two ultrasounds. I am still asked to repeat the ultrasounds even though it feels like a waste of time. I don't find the staff at all professional with talking openly about patients and outside work activities openly.

I have been Dr. Bruhn's patient for some time and he is excellent is all facets of his profession. His calender is very full and appointments tend to be a stretch out in time. all in all he is excellent and I highly recommend this Dr.

I have a thyroid nodule and was referred to Dr. Bruhn. It took 7 weeks to get the first appointment. Then until I kept calling for a cancellation, it was going to take another 6 weeks for a biopsy. When I did have the needle biopsy, the results came back "non-diagnostic" (i.e. can't tell if it's cancer from the sample). Couldn't get the results over the phone. Had to wait for another appointment. This one took only 3 weeks. Staff was sometimes nice, sometimes not. Went to another doctor for a second opinion and received the results in 3 days. (benign). I'm switching doctors.

The doctor seemed caring enough, spent time and was professional in the treatment room. However, boundaries between staff were not appropriate. I sat with the nutritionist while the doctor, other nurses came in and spoke openly about other patients. I knew names, conditions and mental status of them. The nutritionist treated the Dr. like a child, dismissing how he told me to take the medication, made different and conflicting recommendations, and spoke as if she has to keep him in check. I was prescribed medication that I had already indicated I had a reaction to previously, was encouraged to take it, and had a bad reaction again.

I was a patient of this doctor for 5 years and one time I missed an appointment because I moved. Instead of sending me a bill he sent it to a collector and I found out in my credit report. From the proffesional point of view the test resulst were never Ok and he asked me to take the tests over and over again. At the office visits he talks a lot of things not relevant tot hte visit. I went there for a professional opinion, but he talks a lot of non-sense.

Dr. Bruhn is very thorough, a good listener, and responsive to my questions and concerns.

I've been to many doctors and Dr. Bruhn is probably the worst. He yelled at me and let me leave his office in tears. what a horrible dr. stay away! he is bitter towards academic doctors, and it just an angry man in general. if you want to be abused, go see dr bruhn.

Dr. Bruhn seems to have a different philosphy about medicine than many of his peers. Perhaps in some respects, this can be a positive, but when I get sicker because of it, then I have to rate him poorly. SJMG is a very professional place, but in my experience with endocrinologists, Dr. Bruhn did not seem top class.
