Dr.Chabal at Evergreen Hosp/Pain Clinic is great. I've had a number of procedures from basic injections to rhizotomies or RFA (Radiofrequency Nerve Ablations), I've had 2 cervical fusions in the past & lumbar laminectomy and various other cervical/mainly lumbar procedures prior to seeing Dr. Chabal, some were successful, some not or not lasting any length of time. Have experienced intense pain both areas, the usual things that go along with it per films are: arthritis, bulging discs, narrowing, normal degenerative changes, etc. The rhizotomies can last 6-24mos+ depending on the person as I understand it, I seem to average approx a year, no complaint there, it's life-changing when you're living with constant pain. I admire him as he does take a conservative approach if possible, suggesting try PT etc if appropriate. He has a recent x-ray or MRI film or has you get one prior to any procedure, spends time with you explaining on the films what you're looking at, what happens during each… procedure, doesn't rush you, makes sure you understand or have all questions/concerns answered. Such a kind, professional but so friendly & personable doctor, and his staff is excellent, refreshing to see people that actually "like coming to work" and all say they love working for him, It's a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in the Clinic yet still professional. They always follow-up the following day see how you're doing, need anything, questions, etc. Very detailed record keeping every time you check in, constantly updating meds, other issues if any since last visit or that you're concerned about. He's one of few doctors these days that will actually call you if asked. I've had numerous surgeries, procedures over my many years & had such great outcomes under his care; he & his staff are top notch. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone trying to get pain relief/pain management.
