Dr. Cheryl Debbie Ackerman, MD

Recently I thought of going to a dermatologist to have a skin check up. I remembered a nightmarish doctor named Cheryl Ackerman, and out of curiosity, I looked her up. I am not surprised by the reviews that say she is unstable and strange. I remember that she had been wonderful during my first visit. When I returned nearly a year later, I was able to see a Jekyll and Hyde transition. My diagnosis? She is addicted to drugs and/or has some level of a bipolar disorder. The woman was completely changed into someone very mean. I was so sad about her awful transition, and I was also hurt by the way she treated me so rudely. I hope that she will find someone to help her!

I wish I had read the reviews before going to her office for a basic skin rash - ezcema. The wait was long and she did not explain the procedure she was performing on me. I ended up with a unnessary biopsy on the side of my stomach without knowing what it would entailed. She didn't explain anything! After the procedure, I ended up with two stitches! I had ezcema. Any good doctor would know by just looking at it. I went to a different doctor to remove my stitches and when I told him. He was horrified that she performed a biopsy on me for an obvious skin condition. I now think she did it to get more money from my insurance company. If you are reading this, do not go. Go to someone who knows what they are doing! By the way, she did not follow up with me like she said on the biopsy result. She was just a terrible doctor. I don't know how she got her doctor license.

Initially I was very secure with her I described her as eccentric but brilliant. But over time appointments made arriving to find office closed . Took snack and book as expected three hour wait to be seen. High incompetent staff turn over. Her lab coat filthy. Her manner distracted given to tears. The Office is in her home. Insufficient seating due to over booking and unacceptable wait time. Finally decided not to trust to do surgery. Although her diagnosis was confirmed by new physician. I have over heard complaints from other patients about billing. Believe it or not I wish her well and hope issues can be resolved . She may be eccentric but she is brilliant.

people need to stop writing ignorant comments if she was a bad doctor why u keep going back to her. the ignorance never stops people need to stop judging and know the truth. one thing I know shes a good doctor and human being. people just don't have patience to wait and I work in the medical field everywhere you go you have to wait just because you have insurance doesn't mean you better then other people you wait for your turn like everyone else. everyone commenting bad about her worry about keeping your job.

Do I even call her a doctor? Aside from aweful bedside manners she is less than competent. Not only does she not take adequate time in discussing your problems/concerns, she seems to care less about proper treatment. How could a doctor prescribe medicines without even explaining what they are supposed to do?? "Dr Ackerman" is WAY to quick to rush patients in & out through her revolving door....the same door that is apparently losing patients bc many refuse to go back to her. Also be sure to check out the reviews on Wellness.com about her. You'll notice the last 5 digits of the IP address in many of the "reviews" are from coming from the same 2-3 sources. Sneaky little mice...

Ackerman is not about helping patients; she displays she is in this business for the money. Her bedside manner is horrendous and she barely spends anytime with you to give you a correct diagnosis or to help you understand your skin better. Before her, I never went to a dermatologist for my acne and never really understood why my skin acted up. I sat down with her and she barely looked at me; all she did was write stuff on her notepad and look at my face briefly. She prescribed me 2 medications (a face wash and a topical gel) without any discussion of options or how the medication was supposed to help my acne. The end result: it damaged my skin even more. On top of that, her practice billed me TWICE...I even had a receipt to verify it!!Luckily I found a different (and SEVERELY COMPETENT) dermatologist. I took the medication to him as I wanted a better explanation and he said the one medication she prescribed me would've been the last option to use. He spent about 20mins explaining why… my skin was the way it was and discussing different medications to use and in what phases we would use them in. It's 5months later and my skin looks more amazing than it ever has.

Totally unprofessional. Please note that we think this doctor is rating herself highly around the internet. Check the google ratings for accurate ones where nobody gave her a good review. Last time I heard, insurance companies were making her out of network because of so many complaints. Her office was dirty and she made me wait for well over an hour in a gown while her answered her phone 8 times. She also billed me over and over again and the insurance company had to step in. They also let me know that they found her unsettling. I heard she was great in the past but I am telling you, something is not right with this doctor!

This is the worse doctor I've ever seen. She drew blood and did a biopsy that were never sent to a lab. I called for weeks to get my results and was told to call back that the results were not in. After 4 weeks i gave up and looked for another doctor.

Totally unprofessional.canceled on me 5 weeks in a row.claims she is ill..maybe she is but wouldnt you think she would give me a referal to a another dermatologist?office is dirty ,staff sucks .also the one time i did see her she appeared high..check other reviews im not the only one who picked up on that

I found DR Ackerman to be very knowledgeable and she took time to explain everything about the dermatology problem. I had seen three supposed to be excellent dermatologist before her and she did a much better job than any of the others
