Dr. Cheryl Lyda D. Almirante, MD

Kind, knowledgeable, compassionate. Always goes above and beyond to make sure that I understand information communicated in appointments and clearly explains steps necessary after appointment. Truly the best endocrinologist that I have had in the past 3 years. So grateful that I am receiving services from Dr. Almirante!

I was. Having trouble finding the office. I called 3 times with no answer. I arrived 10 minutes late. I was in a medical scooter and was unable to get close enough to the receptionists to talk to them. They pointed to a sign that said sign in. I couldn’t find sign in sheet, so I waited for my daughter who had driven me, and was parking the car. She finally signed in at 1015 . When we were called, they said I was 15 minutes late, and refused to have me see the doctor. Outrageous behavior. I was never asked what I wanted to see the doctor for. I was sent away after driving 90 minutes to get there

I was just sent a letter stating thank you for your appointment, BLa, bla, bla, due to the high volume of missed appointments, we must receive a confirmation 2 days prior. No Doubt, because no one bother to call me to set up an appointment. They are lazy, and unorganized in the norfolk office.

Waste of time and money. She had no time to deal with my health- so she wanted me to go to John's Hopkins for a pancreas transplant. Real smart Doc. Call this to Lazy to research and or try to find an answer for a problem. Stall was Great. Doctor was friendly. Go back to school.

Dr. Almirante was very thorough during my visit. When she came into the room she was already aware of my condition and had viewed my CT scans that where done at another hospital. After talking with me about my symptoms and examining me she immediately took me in for an ultrasound and biopsy. I am awaiting the results of the biopsy but I am very pleased with the care I received from Dr. Almirante.

I went to this doctor with very high hopes that she would be able to help me with my problem, and boy was I fooled. She took no time with me at all. She came into the room clueless. I filled out my paper work and mailed it back into her a week before my appointment. She never looked at it until she came into the room for my visit. I kept trying to explain to her what was going on and she kept interupting me. She stayed on the computer the whole time and never even looked at me. I expected way moer out of her, especially since she is one of the professors at EVMS. I will not return to see her. No manners at all and not a very good doctor in my opinion.
