Dr. Cheryl Saenz, MD

Expert witness on behalf of Johnson and Johnson in the baby powder lawsuit, Dr. Saenz has an ego you don’t want to mess with, it could result in a shorter life as I believe is happening to me. And It doesn’t take much to mess with her ego. Like if she doesn’t like the chemo treatment choices you’ve made with a previous doctor or if you take prescribed by Care Oncology off-label drugs like Metformin, Doxycycline, and Atorvastatin for cancer. (Even though Moore’s marketing tag line is “personalized medicine”). If your CA125 is below “normal” like 26 even though you have 4 small tumors, including one on your colon, she won’t let you get the HE4 blood marker test in addition to CA125, even if you’ve been getting it for 18 months to track your disease with two other doctors. If you want to stay on Lynparza because it actually showed some results for a while, she might say ok to your face and not even talk about chemo, but write in her notes that she thinks you should get chemo and decline… it. If in a few months, when your CA125 starts to go up faster and you ask to change course and get chemo, she won’t let you unless your CA125 is over 70, AND she won’t test CA125 for the next 3 months. If you beg for her to at least let you get a CA125 during those 3 months she’ll tell you NO and to go get another opinion. If you do jump through all those hoops, she will block you from seeing anyone else in her office. She’ll write false information in your doctor's notes like you lost your insurance, when you had only moved from LA, or that you self-medicate when you have prescriptions. She’ll leave things out of her notes that would incriminate her like that random 70 number. If her med student askes her if you need a pelvic exam and you disrobe and wait for over 30 minutes for her to come back she might have a rushed discussion with you about how you can't do chemo because your CA125 is under 70 and then ask if you want to do the pelvic. If it takes a couple of months to change insurance and get a new doctor and now your CA125 is 61 and there’s a multitude of tumors in your peritoneal cavity as big as 8.9 cm you might write to warn as many women as possible that Dr. Saenz has a huge ego and no heart. If your new doctor reads her discriminating notes you might have to explain what happened and defend yourself. If you do a search for her on youtube you’ll also see her being praised by big pharma for making the most of any other doctor in the country in speakers fees for Avastin in 2018. If you then do a search for Avastin you’ll find published studies that prove it doesn’t help you live longer. If you find this hard to believe you could ask me to see the receipts and I’d show them to you if I’m still alive.

Dr Saenz is very confident of her knowledge, and she has an impressive educational background. She is good at telling you what to do and poor at listening to your perspective or explaining why she recommended a particular treatment over other viable options. She does not take the patient-centered care approach to medicine. Rather, she dictated to me what my treatment would be, even though there was more than one reasonable path that we could have taken. She was not interested in my concerns about the path we were taking, or my interest in exploring other treatment options. It was her way or the highway. She seemed rushed and impatient, and she can come across as intimidating. Her admin assistant was usually not at her desk, so communicating with the doctor meant leaving a voice mail for her assistant. Her nurse was not responsive. It often took the nurse 3 to 5 days to return my calls.

There are too many bad things for me to say about doctor Saenz and how she treated my wife an thus our whole familyâ?¦but here is just bit of what you can expect... My wife had major surgery for ovarian cancer. After the surgery her stomach came open and she was sent home with an enormous open wound! This was months and months ago and after most of it healed the bottom part now is back open and she is in constant pain. Ends up it is not healed inside and she needs additional surgeries. Saenz is hard to get ahold of, leaves you waiting all day when you finally get an appointment, never follows up and when follow up calls are made they are made by complete strangers giving very personal sensitive life altering information without any personal involvement. Saenz gives no real options of your next step, and does not explain what the heck is going on and what to do about itâ?¦and now my wife is left in very bad shapeâ?¦thank you doctor Saenz! We are now searching for a surgeon to… help us figure this out and save my wifeâ?¦.PLEASE DONT TRUST CHERYL SAENZ with your life or someone you love!

While Dr. Saenz might be well educated she has the ABSOLUTE WORST bed side manner I've ever received. I agree with the other patient she is RUDE, rude, and RUDE!! When someone is diagnosed with a terminal cancer or any cancer for that matter that person needs to be treated with COMPASSION which Dr. Saenz must not have been taught or lost somewhere along they way. My biggest regret is that I allowed her to treat me for four months to long. I've had cancer for three years and been in and out of remission. I've been treated by many doctors, Onc.,sugeons, and nurses and ALL of them were Exceptional and kind. You might think, who wouldn't be under the circumstances, Dr. Saenz to name one. I stayed with her four months thinking it would improve but it only got worse. Fortunately I've been down this road before and I had enough experience with doctors to know that this treatment is unacceptable. I've decided to post this comment because God forbid someone is seeing her with a newly diagnosed… with cancer, scared, and doesn't realize there is MUCH Kinder and extremely educated doctors available. I only gave one star for many questions and only gave that because I didn't have a lower choice. Look around. It's your life not her's. However if you do go to her please leave when she is rude and disrespectful because you should not be treated that way and don't have to be. Good luck and God bless.

Dr. Saenz was one of the best physicians I've ever worked with. Her reception staff, however, was not. I was treated very rudely, and Dr. Saenz had to apologize on more than one occasion. I would, however, always choose her, despite this inconvenience.

Curt and rude. Won't be seeing her again.
