This is the third time that I have gone to the office for an appointment and had to wait for a LONG time.  The last 2 times were over an hour and today for 50 minutes.  Both times I arrived 20-30 minutes prior to the appt as required.  The entire time I waited today the doctor was in his office with what appeared to be interns.  No one indicated the schedule was backed up nor came to provide an indication of the status for the appt.  I would understand if there was an emergency or just delays and someone had said this.  But three times, appear to be a pattern with the doctor and problems with the staff. It takes me close to an hour each way for the appt and 2 hours at the office, so a large expenditure of time for a 10 min session for someone with lung problems.  Today, I got up and left without the office visit.  Not only this, but the doctor nor office staff do not respond to my chart messages, nor return calls.  I've only had a couple enquiries. Also, attempts to have… prescriptions refilled encounter the same problems from the pharmacy.  I would not recommend this doctor nor his office staff.

Dr. Merlo saved my life. He correctly diagnosed me when other pulmonologist messed up. I beat the serious infection because of him. He has monitored me for 5 years since. Always available when I catch a cold from the grandkids and he has a long term preventative plan for me. Can't expect more. Captain, USN (retired)
