I referred myself due to the high ratings this Dr. has. My Specialist from Charlotte sent an order for a EMG. Dr. Lehman’s staff was awesome scheduling and even great day of my appointment. I have Lupus, and my CPK (muscle damage marker) are extremely high. This actually has to be the worst appointment I’ve ever had. I’m hoping for past and future patients Dr. Lehman just had an off day like we all do. I’m writing this review because besides the lack of listening to her patient, never introduced herself, and really didn’t talk to me about what lead to me needing a EMG. The reason I got so upset at my appointment resulted in to 1 thing really, and that was the order my Dr. sent. I’m sure Dr. Lehman is a good physician especially due to the ratings she has, but as a nurse of 20+ years I’ve never worked for a Dr. nor have I had visits of my own where a Dr. tells me “they are to busy to call and check clarification on a order.” I was actually there for testing on my arms, and the order my specialist was for lower extremities. I know that there had been a mistake from my specialist part because wrong orders do happen. I tried telling Dr. Lehman it was my arms, and could we just make a quick call to verify so the wrong test wasn’t actually done. The whole reason for this rating of 1 star is simply the disregard to clarify my order. Regardless of her attitude which a lot of Doctors don’t gel with patients, but to be too busy to clarify an order not only is reckless, dangerous but irresponsible. I put my shoes and socks on and didn’t let her do the test. Yes, I was so upset and took that outside in the waiting room and I understand that I shouldn’t have been done. The main point of this review is I’ve never witnessed a Dr tell a patient they are to busy to clarify orders, I’d advise if you have a question about a test and something is not exactly right don’t follow through with test or if they’re not willing to give a call and have better clarification on what’s to be done cancel the appointment. That is wherever and whoever your appointment is with. All orders need clarification especially when patients know why they are there it takes very little time to make a call which can save something massive from happening.
