Dr. Christina Shuwai Chu, MD

She is absolutely horrible. Mother died in 2016. Gave very little information and as a result simply had nothing to say when my parent was dying. Stay away - She also jumps around alot from hospital system to hospital system - I think she has hit them all Cooper, Fox Chase, Penn, Temple. Stay away - absolutely 100% horrible.

My wife had Stage 1 cancer localized to her uterus. Dr. Chu performed a full hysterectomy and said after surgery that she thinks she got it all. However, during a post-op app Chu mentioned in passing that there was spillage into the pelvis during the surgery – need I say more. My wife then went through many months of chemo but to no avail as my wife passed away and this all occurred under Chu’s watch. In addition, if we did not ask questions Chu basically had few words. She has zero bedside manners, never provided any encouragement, flip-flopped a number of times, and always seemed like she was in a rush during our appointments. Near the end in the infusion room my wife (who rarely complained about anything) said something to a great nurse that will always stay with me and probably the nurse – she said “I feel like Chu gave up on me”. Oh, and Chu never called or sent a card to give her condolences which speaks volumes. I am hoping someone will benefit from this review.

Dr. Chu was my surgeon. She's really good, easy to work with, explains everything, and will put you at ease.

I met Dr. Chu when she was a Fellow at U of Penn Hospital working with Dr. Mark Morgan were a team who cared for my mother Louise E. Burbage, who later succumb to Leiyomyosarcoma. Then a few years later Dr. Chu was the surgeon who performed my myomectomy to remove 106 fibroid tumors. She was AmaZing! Her care and compassion for my Son and I was something I will never forget. She handled me with kidd gloves. I was a nervous wreck with 50 million questions...and she answered them all. Well the tumors are back and I' m going back to Dr Chu for her consult, care and compassion.

Dr. Chu immediately put me at ease. I truly feel she treats the patient, not just the disease. Her knowledge and expertise were apparent from the start. She took the time to thoroughly explain all of my options and is very accessible. My fear and anxiety have now been replaced with optimism and confidence thanks to Dr. Chu.

Dr. Chi is a top notch doctor: brilliant, skilled and has a great bedside manner. She really tries to explain things and alleviate fears. She also assembles a great team.
