Dr. Saurel is fantastic , very knowledgeable and a wonderful human being! You can tell she’s a great leader and physician by how her whole staff interacts and treats her patients! Dr. Saurel Literally saved my life! Thank you is not enough!

While I have been a patient for several years, each visit leaves me searching for a new doctor. She is very rushed and spends minimal time in the room with me. It is extremely difficult to contact her office to have questions answered. If possible, I would search for an alternate doctor before becoming her patient. However, I love my surgeon and do not want to leave his care.

Dr. Saurel was my mother’s oncologist for 18 months. That’s 18 months with Pancreatic Cancer, which is a looooong time! I believe a lot of my mom’s success was due to the care we received from her and her team. Dr. Saurel not only held my mom’s hand the entire time, but she held mine too. I was at almost every appointment, and she was willing to answer my questions and quiet my fear and anxiety. She was professional yet caring and understanding of what I, the daughter, was dealing with in knowing we were going to lose my mom, my best friend. She was wonderful with my mom too, who had to face the fact she was dying. We were blessed to have her during the most difficult time of our lives! I would highly recommend Dr. Saurel to anyone facing the cancer battle. Her nurses were incredible too. I’m so thankful to have had them as our caretakers.

Dr Saurel's seems to be offended if challenged at any point on diagnosis or explanation. However, on examining my 79 y.o. mother, seems to settle down and be gentler. Not sure what effects the change from discussion to examination but still giving her a chance.

Dr. Saurel routinely makes my husband wait over 2 hours each time he has an appointment to see her. He's discussed changing his medication with her every appointment for the last year, and she has agreed, but continues to fail to write the new script every time. It took her 3 months to notice his alarming weight loss and then wanted to wait another month before looking into it. This is negligence. When he's been admitted to the hospital, she has no interaction with my husband and little, if any, interaction with the attending provider. I've put in a complaint with NGHS and I've gotten an apology, but no change or promise for change.

Dr. Saurel is a very thorough, professional physician specializing in the treatment of cancer. I saw many cancer doctors, but she is by far the best. She not only saved my life, but she listened to me. She kept up with me daily while in the hospital, and when other doctors wanted to perform unnecessary procedures, she challenged their judgement and prevented unnecessary harm. At first I was skeptical, but within days it was clear she was a leader in her profession and my prognosis wouldnt have beenhalf as good if she wasn't my primary physician. I trust her with my life. She treated me like I was her only patient. She didn't rush, she was very devoted to a positive outcome as much as I was. I guarantee all others fall short in comparison. She is exremely intelligent, confident, but not so confident that she dismisses anomalies.
