Very proficient in his diagnosis. has a great staff, very professional. Doctor Debacker also did a follow up call after surgery to make sure I was doing ok. Would recommend to anyone.

I went in to see Dr. DeBacker for my drooping eyelids. He did a wonderful job! He recommended a few additional things I didn't even know would make a difference. Never felt pressured, glad I went thru with it. Great bedside manner. He called the night of surgery to make sure everything was going well after surgery. I would highly recommend this surgeon.

About 3 years ago I was referred to Dr Debacker by my sister. She had her upper and lower lids done by him and they looked very good. She said that he had redone the bottom lids because after the original surgery she still had wrinkles but he did it for free and she was happy. I took time off of work and drove to San Antonio to meet with him and we discussed having the skin removed from my eyelids, removing some fat pockets underneath as well as the wrinkles. He submitted it to insurance and I was told that insurance would pay for the upper lids and an eyebrow lift. So, I paid out of pocket, several thousand dollars for the bottom lids. The day before surgery, a representative in his office called me and said that Insurance would not pay for the eyebrow lift nor the upper lids. I told him I would pay out of pocket for the upper eye lid but did not have any more money to pay for the eyebrow lift. I took time off work, drove to San Antonio, stayed in a hotel and had the surgery… the next day. I drove home and stayed off work for 2 weeks. On my follow up visit I voiced concern about the wrinkles under my eyes and that my upper eyelids still had a lot of skin. He said let’s take a look at it again in a couple of weeks, it will look better when the swelling goes down. I went to my follow up appointment. The upper lid was still a little puffy and had lots of skin, he said it was still swollen and would take several months to regain the proper shape. The wrinkles under my eyes were still there, so he said that I should do some chemical peels and that should take care of it. Four months later I did a chemical peel at a spa in Austin. Four months later I did another one and one more four months later. The wrinkles did not disappear. I referred a friend to Dr. Debacker, since I still had confidence in his ability at that time and she had an upper eyelid repair. Eight weeks later she had to have it redone. During this time, I was seeing a Dermatologist for sun spots and I listed that I had previous eyes surgery so he asked about my eyes, I told him about the chemical peels. He told me to stop immediately and advised that I seek a second opinion from another plastic surgeon. I went to see a Plastic Surgeon in Austin. He was surprised that I had the upper and lower lid surgery and said that he did not think the surgeries were successful and I should ask the prior surgeon (Dr Debacker) to redo the surgery. I asked him if an eyebrow lift would repair the now sagging upper eye lids and he said no, that it wouldn’t look right. I also saw a Plastic Surgeon in Waco and he too seemed surprised that I had my ‘eyes done” and commented that I may need to talk to the original surgeon. I went back to see Dr. Debacker and he told me that the sagging upper lid could not be repaired or I wouldn’t be able to close my eyelids, basically it was because I chose not to have the eyebrow lift. He agreed to redo the under eyes in the office (at no cost). A few weeks later I took off work again and he did the surgery. Once again, I could still see wrinkles afterward. On the follow up visit he said that it would be better after the swelling went down. Two weeks later the wrinkles had not disappeared. I lost confidence in his ability to get the job done and asked him for a refund, so I could go to another plastic surgeon and have it done for a 3rd time. He said no, but offered to see me again. I told him no. I sent him current photos along with a letter asking for a refund. He sent me a letter and basically said that the sagging was due to the aging process. I disagree, prior to the initial surgery I was 52 years old and the wrinkles and sagging had taken a very long time to occur. Now he was saying that it happened again within 3 years. I again reached out to him asking for a refund and again he said no. This process had been spread out over a 3 year period and I still am not happy with the result sand I am out more than $7000.00. I am posting current photos and will let you be the judge if this surgery was worth the cost. I firmly do not recommend Dr. Debacker. This timeline is to the best of my ability and this process has been very lengthy and painful.

Dr. Debacker has had to remove several chalazions from both eyes. He and his staff are excellent. He did an amazing job and I had no complications. I highly recommend him.

I was instructed by my ophthalmologist to get my heavy eyelids addressed as they were restricting my vision. So, Dr. DeBacker beautifully corrected the upper lids clearly beyond what I thought was even remotely possible! He also reduced the heavy lower bags under my eyes to perfection. I did neither for vanity... but now people do not believe my age. 10 out of 10! Go figure. Your call!

Dr. Debacker performed an eyelid procedure on me three times. The first time he collected from my work insurance. The surgery was not successful so he performed it again collecting from Medicare again it was not successful he performed the procedure for the 3rd time! He collected from Medicare twice and once from my health insurance from work. Each time I was stuck paying for co-pays and out of pockets which I think was unfair since the surgeries did not correct the problem and it was not my fault. Now this third time they called me to confirm my follow up appt for my 3rd surgery and they want to collect a co-pay plus an additional fee for some testing they say he wants to do. Really? I still owe $264 dollars from the 2nd surgery for the facility which I feel is unfair since the procedures were not successful and was told I would not have to pay anything. He had already collected three times from my insurances. I ended up canceling the appt. because I don't have the money to be… paying him for something that should have been done right the first time. I am very disappointed that I had to go through this healing 3 times and having to pay out of pocket when it was not my fault.

Dr was good but he took too much fat from one eye in my blepharoplasty and now have a sunken look in one eye which is frustrating. Wish I could go back
