Dr. Fontenot earned his medical degree at LSUMC School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA, completed his residency at the LSU/Ochsner Program in Urology and is certified by the American Board of Urology. Dr. Fontenot is a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine; the Society for Urodynamics and Female Urology; the American Urological Association; the Louisiana State Urological Society; the Louisiana State Medical Society, and the US Autism and Asperger Association.
Dr. Fontenot was the medical director for the Lafayette District Children’s Special Health Services Urology/Spinal Cord Clinic, where he treated children with urinary problems related to spina bifida and other spinal cord abnormalities. Named as one of Louisiana Life Magazine’s Best Doctors for the last three years, he recently received special training in male infertility and microsurgery, and his interests include male infertility, male hormone replacement, incontinence and pelvic prolapse, metabolic stone disease, and urologic endoscopy, including laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
