Dr. Christopher Martin Garvey, MD

Dr. Garvey was on call this weekend. I had a lot of pressure in my ears and called the general number in his department. I eventually talked to an on call nurse who called him. I was asking for steroids because my Doctor had said I should take them if the Flonase wasn't working. The nurse told me that he was angry that I called. According to him this was not an emergency. Apparently he has never had pressure in his ears! He told the nurse that I should have waited until Monday or planned ahead of time. How do you plan ahead of time that you're going to have an emergent situation? It is my understanding that when a doctor is on call that it is their job to take care of the patients that call in and do it in a caring and respectful way. This is unacceptable behavior. I would not recommend him to anyone.

Bottom line, was told there was nothing wrong with me that other patients haven't had complaints about. He never even looked at my CT Scan. I felt like I was wasting his time. Would not recommend. Feeling bad because my insurance has to pay for this crappy appointment:(
