Dr. Manion and his entire team are amazing. He did a repair on my shoulder and one question I had was will I be able to do push ups and pull ups, he said probably not because rotator cuff recovery is a very hard tecovery. My entire mission was to prove him wrong in which I did at week 4 post op. I believe if anyone else did my surgery I would not have healed as fast as I did. So thank you opa and Dr. Manion for your excellent work after 11 years in pain I'm finally playing basketball, sleeping a full night without the pain and back in the gym.

1-26-24 Dr. Manion came highly recommended by several of my coworkers here in Anchorage. As a runner, hiker, cyclist from Colorado … I was originally headed to Aspen to the Orthapedic professionals there. But… after an initial consultation with OPA… and meeting Dr. Manion ( who has a Colorado connection ) his knowledge, explanation and realistic expectations and prognosis of my rotator cuff injury was amazingly understandable and laid out from beginning to end. He has a wonderful demeanor and he is a skilled professional. A rare combination of somebody who is at the top of his field and able to relate his science and technical skills …so even this simple Features Reporter could understand the shoulder procedure. “Highly Recommend “ doesn’t do this man and his team justice. I was kept informed of all steps of the surgery from the cost, what would happen the week leading up to the surgery and post-op expectations. It was seamless and let me focus on healing. I had my surgery November 2,… 2023. Almost 11 weeks out now? I have full range of motion and NO pain! Let me explain…I had 3 torn or ripped tendons! - and bone spurs! Dr. Manion repaired them all! I cannot wait to return to lifting and resuming my active lifestyle come - Summer 2024- pain free! At age 59, I’ve got a long way to go and a lot of hiking and cycling and running to do! This will be my second surgery with Dr Manion. He did an excellent job on my knee and I believe my shoulder surgery will be just as successful.

Bilateral (both knees) grade 3 ACL tears . Dr. Manion only detected one during my visit. Was discharged with preop brace for left knee. Walked around for a week + with full tears of ACL & MCL on right knee. Glad I didnt damage it more. Just stating, orthopedic surgeon entirely failed to diagnose same injury in R knee.

Dr. Manion was well prepared when I took my 84 year told mother for a 2nd opinion for rotator cuff surgery. He had thoroughly read my mother's medical file and gone over all the charts and x-rays, MRI, etc. when we arrived for the appointment. Dr. Manion was kind, spent a lot of time with us, was prompt, prepared, had a wonderful beside manner as well as being very candid about surgery. He recommended against the surgery at this stage in her life since she had an old injury, it was not causing her any discomfort and he couldn't guarantee that the surgery would improve the quality of her remaining life. I would highly recommend Dr. Manion.
