Dr. Christopher Roy Stelton, MD

First visit three years ago. Called on a Thursday, was seen the very next Tuesday and then Dr. told me he could do macular hole repair surgery the very next Wednesday, which was four days before Christmas. Literally had my surgical follow up on Dec. 22. Dr. Stelton performs his own surgical follow up, no farming out to other doctors, which is a huge deal for me. He's extremely knowledgeable, skilled and observantly passionate about his chosen profession. He is also direct. I wasn't seeing the way I had hoped after surgery and and he told me that outcomes vary for each patient and for some it could take up to a year to see normalized results. And it did take that long for me but knowing that up front is helpful. He also saw me through cataract surgery (referral to a cataract surgeon). Macular hole tends to advance cataract formation, which it did, so I was on quite a journey for about two years but all good because of a skilled surgeon, who is also empathetic with patients, a great… professional staff in the office. They answer the phone and treat you with humanity. Bottom line, I can see, I can ride my motorcycle! Yay! Cuz I was able to renew my license because before the surgery I failed the DMV vision test. I will need cataract surgery in my other eye but Dr. Stelton is so good about the timing of these surgeries. We are not doing it now. Probably in a year because cataract surgery involves a slight tug on the retina when sucking out the old lens and so he wants my retinal fluids and such to be in a state where a slight tug won't dislodge the retina. See, this is the depth of medicine I need practiced on my eyes. Run don't walk to this doctor. Seriously.

We can’t say enough about the incredible care my husband has received these past few months. My husbands detached retina was only one of several problems he encountered, sadly. We still have more surgeries to go . Dr Stelton is a man of integrity, skill and compassion and we feel very fortunate to have found him .

Injured my eye badly with a simple injection! He didn't perform the procedure because it hurt so much that I almost pass out. My eye is totally bloody inside and purple outside. It hurts and he hasn't even call to check on me after his malpractice. I had to go as an emergency to another specialist, as a result I learned I didn't need the laser surgery he was going to perform. My worse mistake was to trust him because he looks caring. Very deceiving! I am 54, very healthy. I went to him for a check up and today I ave a damaged eye which will take at least a month to recover. He literally has ruined my life now, but I am glad he didn't do the laser surgery I didn't need to have.

Not only very proficient in his field but very open, caring, informative with an efficient office. I had to have shots in my eye and it did not hurt at all. I have recommended him to many patients who complained about the pain when getting these shots at other practices. I highly recommend Chris (which is how he introduces himself).

Dr. Shelton, gives you great comfort also a sense that everything is going to be okay he has a gift for calming your fears by just being himself even though he's a professional he does not act like the usual professionals, he connects with the patient, he does not judge you, he's just an ordinary guy that knows how to use his gifts I'm so glad that I met this doctor

Dr Stelton and staff were fantastic! Vacationing in Sarasota, had an eye issue, Staff got us right in. Dr Stelton is professional, extremely knowledgeable, impeccable bed side manners, took time with my husband and I. Explained the diagnosis and plan. You do not find many Doctors these days that look you in the eye while talking and not at a computer, that take all the time you need at an appointment, make you feel like and individual. His reviews that we read on line are all very true. We would travel back to Florida if my husband had further eye issues, just to see him.

My husband had outpatient laser surgery recently at this practice . As an RN , I am always evaluating staff for “ what they tell us, when they tell us and how well they keep in the know - before , during , and after procedure .” I am happy to say that all received a 5 ( highest ) from me . Dr . Chris couldn’t have been more approachable , procedure went well ,and one day post op , he , yes he called my husband to see how it was going ! Kudos NH

I was very stressed because this was a Go Now situation. Turns out it was not that bad. I was seen quickly and efficiently. Staff was professional and nice, Dr Stelton was terrific. Calm and knowledgeable with a very kind bedside manner. Felt at ease and greatly relieved. Thanks to everyone.

Dr. Stelton is worthy of all the previous ratings & comments. Great listener, explaining in laymen’s terms, on time and most importantly a compassionate professional. I feel his bedside manner is a perfect combination of skill and making one feel at ease due to his calm demeanor. I highly recommend him and his staff.

doctor is the best. has been giving my 90 year old mother injections. painless and shes had three other retina docs. he has been best by far. actually cares.
