Dr. Chutaporn Charnsangavej

If anyone plans to see Dr. Charnsangavej, be aware of mountainous unexpected charges. I have two young daughters who had ultra-sound guided IUD in two different locations. Exactly same service. I checked in both places before the procedure whether this would be covered by my insurance, and I was told from both places 'Yes'. Since this is preventative care, it should have been covered 100%. The first one was done in Partner's in Woman's Health. $89 for each office visit (two visits) and all serves covered by insurance as they promised. On the other hand, for Dr. Charnsangavej service, in addition to $285 for each visit (total $600), I was charged extra $415 for ultrasound guidance, its interpretation and image reading!!! Really! To be clear, this is ON TOP OF her clinic visit of $285 and $1,895 IUD procedure. I mean seriously! It's infuriating that they can charge whatever they want. If there is going to be extra charge, they should have informed us.

Dr. "Chute" (as she is called) was my ob/gyn for several years and through 2 pregnancies. She is warm, friendly, caring, and took her time listening to me. I never felt rushed and she talked calmly to me during procedures, which was helpful to me because I have anxiety and a low pain tolerance. Nobody likes having their annual done, but she makes it as painless as possible. I am disappointed that she didn't end up being the one available to deliver either of my babies, but the other doctors in her practice are also very competent and wonderful, and they delivered my babies in perfect health. I have since moved out of state and wish I could take her and her practice with me!
