Summary
I was born in Rangoon, Burma, which is now known as Yangon, Myanmar. I immigrated to the U.S. at the age of nine and grew up in Columbus, Ohio. I was able to start college at the very young age of 15 at Ohio State University. I was accepted into a special program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where I finished both my bachelor's and medical degrees. I completed my residency at the Halsted Surgical Training Program at Johns Hopkins. I then moved to Boston, where I had the fantastic privilege of training at the Children's Hospital Boston and the Brigham and Women's Hospital, both associated with Harvard University. My mentors and professors were world renowned in many aspects of plastic surgery.
