Dr. Claire Susan Schimke, MD

I went in for a yearly visit which is covered at 100% by insurance I received a bill from the DR office. Unfortunately, I didn't question it and I paid it. Later when I was looking at the bill I saw I was charge for a second visit on the same date. I was told it was because we discussed something outside of a normal exam. It took me weeks to get the office to return my calls to find out what exactly I was being charged from. I was told pain in my hand, now I did mention I had pain in my hand and I was wondering if I should go have it seen. Without looking at it or touching it, xrays nothing she said it sounds like an angry tendon. I was bill 200.00 for that and was never told that our discussion of 3 mins would warrant an additional charge. I would have thought that during a physical you discuss your overall health. Caution surprise charges.

Although sometimes the office isn't quite on their toes and things don't get done - calling in prescriptions, etc - Dr. Schimke is amazing! When was the last time a doctor stayed late because she listened to everything you needed to say? When was the last time your doctor talked to both your husband and you at the same time both with different appointment times? Dr. Schimke is caring and listens to all your concerns. She hears you and makes her decisions based on not only what tests tell her, but what you tell her. She genuinely cares about her patients!

My husband and I found her by accident having just moved to CO. She's always very thoughtful and listens well. She asks pointed questions to get to the root of the problem. She will listen to my ideas of what's wrong and consider them. Better yet, she's one of those rare doctors who will say "I don't know" instead of giving you an answer that's not necessarily correct. She's given both of us very good care in the past year that we've lived here. My only complaint is that, like so many doctors, she rotates to different locations making it harder to get an appointment with her on her "off" days at Larkridge.

It seems rare today to find a physician that spends more than 3 minutes with a patient so I'm glad to have found Dr. Schimke. Although she does use the computer charting like most today, once she finishes reviewing and making initial notes, she actually turns away from it and makes eye contact, conducts an exam, discusses what she sees, suggests alternatives and helps me know what to expect next. Her scheduled time in this office is the only downside, but if the issue isn't urgent, its worth the day or two wait to see her.

It took over 8 days for her MA to return my call.

I went to this Dr for acute stress and depression. She did not spend much time with me just kind of wrote me a prescription and sent me on my way. I will see how she is during my follow up consultation.

I have been a patient for Over 3 years, anytime she was not personally available, there has always been someone return my call or figure out how to assist me. I have an accute/cronic ailment that requires I see specialists also, and Dr. Schimke has always assisted and followed up with those appointments. I would recommend her to any of my friends
