Dr.Wimberley has been my doctor since I was an adolescence. Within the last two years I was diagnosed post pardum depression and panic attack or anxiety panic disorder by 3 different doctors which included a phych evaluation test. It literally has taken almost 2 years for me not the paid doctor but ice finally figured out which medicines out of 7 different drugs worked and are working for me and might I add... Doctor #2 has to prescribe my anxiety medications bc Wimberley for whatever reason doesn't like to write the Ativan. Which within the last 3 months we have my dosage correct and doctor #2 is a part of his primary care. But after this almost dangerous mixing of meds and almost two eyes later finally things are working for me an I'm taking 3 meds total. We'll let's say doc #2 had to withdrawal his position due to medical issues and I was unable to get a refill on my anxiety attack meds and needed ambulance and ER treatment which I was given Ativan at the ER on multiple occasions… due to the fact that he finally agrees to write it but at 30 quantity not 90, which again finally was working for me after clonopins not working at 1mg one time a day. It's been a trial period and have had bad drug experiences taking what he suggest which is amytriptilene respirdol and lamixatal with celexa. This jhas been the worst experience of my life while under his care. Anyone know of a good mental health or md that will treat anxiety with ADHD meds in Summerville , sc

Good bedside manner

Dr. Wimberly personally called us promptly with test results. His initial diagnosis was spot on and he worked with specialist to assure my daughter had everything in place for tumor removal. He even called her in the hospital once the tumor was removed. We highly recommend him if you are looking for a provider with up to date medical knowledge and a superb bedside manner.

My parents have going to Dr. Wimberly for over 30 years. He prescribed my father a drug called methotrexate for a skin ailment. Methotrexate is a very strong dangerous drug in which you should be closely monitored while taking it. He never once had labs done on my father. Three years ago daddy was diagnosed with non alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver. His liver disease was caused by the use of methotrexate. He suffered for years and was put on the liver transplant list. He spent weeks on end in the hospital having liter after liter of fluid drawn off. He had multiple infections and blood transfusions. He also spent months in a rehab facility. His new liver did not come in time he died in April. He will not get to see his grandchildren grow up and his grandchildren will not know or remember there wonderful "Grandaddy." Please choose your doctor wisely.

He was my doctor for years and I think it's time he retired. He doesn't care about his patients one bit. My last and final visit lasted a couple of minutes. Apparently, that took up too much of his time because he practically pushed me out of the exam room. He didn't even tell me my diagnosis, just handed me a prescription and sent me on my way. I can confidently say, he is the worst doctor in South Carolina.

Office was dirty,outdated and staff are not welcoming and friendly. Plus D.r dose Not take concern serious.I would Like to say More But, I Highly suggest to fine another doctor if you health mean something to you. try it out if you want but, your'll regret it.

It has been said many times over communication is the success to any endeavor, be it making a business run smoothly, you get my point! Any how called Dr wimberly office last week, talked to donna very pleasant, about weight loss clinic. Well she said the Doc. would make exceptions if you could not make the thur appointment. Call back this week another person answered and said absolutly no way would he make an exception to the rule, would not even asked the doc and I CALLED her back pleaded with her to ask him, and so as she rudly laughed at me she then agreed. And like I wrote in the Begaining COMMUNICATION IS KEY TO SUCCESS!!

My family has gone to Summerville Family Practice for 5 years up until yesterday. My son loved the NP, hopefully she has moved away from this awful establishment. I came in for an appt. for myself and my son, mine for a necessary Rx that i will be on the rest of my life, and i CANNOT run out... my son for his immunizations. I was told by the two rudest women in their office that they had NO record of my insurance, even though i had last seen them in Nov and nothing had changed. She pointed out that nothing was regestering on my insurance website, and when I asked if she would call the customer service number on my card, I was told no, and I could pay 77.00 for me and 77.00 for my son or they WONT help me. They REFUSED to make 1 phone call to correct the problem. keep in mind that we were the only ones in the front waiting room, and the women were clearly not busy. I was on the phone with my insurance company within minutes and verified that nothing was wrong and I was still covered,… please have the office call them to verify. I returned in a few minutes, where they refused to call the insurance company a second time. So, i am done with these people, and ask for my records and a copy of my son's immunization records, where they refused because 'no one is in that room right now'. I did get my records, but not without them making it difficult. I was a regular patient that was treated like a criminal and a scammer, in front of my son, and I am never returning to a place that would choose to hire the rudest herd of cattle that I have ever had the misfortune of interacting with. Here's another fun fact- you will wait a minimum of 45 minutes for the doctor to see you. Although you only wait about 15 minutes in the waiting room, they have a second waiting room behind the doors, in a little corner of the office, where you will wait for a very long time, out of sight. It is the size of an exam room, and not very clean. You will wait at least another 15 to 20 minutes once they finally assign you to a room where you will have to struggle to keep your child from playing with the few broken unsanitized toys on the floor. I have since found a new doctor for my family and have no realized just what I have been missing in quality family medical care. it's a shame, because there were a few really good nurses there that suffer from this office's terrible service.

I cannot fathom how doctors get away with collecting money based upon no certain standard of service or check up. I have stuck it out about a year with this doctor. I also recieved the whole depression must be the answer and being denied a referal. I most recently took my son in to see if he could have a sinus infection. He looked down his throat and asked if he was sneezing. gave him $90.00 out of pocket worth of prescriptions, besides the $20.00 copay. knowing we have been out of work for 6 months! Before turning in the scripts I called him and asked him about not even looking up his nose, in his ears or listening to his chest. No antibiotic was given and I told him of the odor and that he has been fighting this all month. He told me to just try this out first. even after pressing about his lack of exam and our financial situation. It could be possible he may need to be seen himself for lack of apathy, professionalism and possibly DEPRESSION! that was only the straw that broke the… camels back. I definetly stayed to long.
