Dr. Claude Migeon has the following 2 specialties
- Pediatric Endocrinology
Endocrinologists treat disorders related to our glands and the hormones they produce. Because hormones play a key role in the growth and development of children, these conditions often pose different threats to children than they do adults. That’s where a pediatric endocrinologist comes in.
They can diagnose and treat hormonal disorders such as abnormal thyroid function, growth complications and early or delayed puberty. Ambiguous genitals as well as ovarian and testicular dysfunction are also part of their expertise. Childhood obesity, diabetes and problems with low blood sugar also tie back to hormone function and may require consulting with a pediatric endocrinologist.
A pediatrician is a doctor who specializes in the regular care of children, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of illness in children. Young patients are often more complicated to treat because they are still growing and developing.
While pediatricians may sub-specialize in specific therapy areas like oncology, surgery, ophthalmology, and anesthesiology, in general, pediatricians provide services like vaccinations, health exams, and treatment of common ailments and injuries. In addition, pediatricians are trained to handle the complex emotional and behavioral issues faced by children, especially during puberty.
Pediatricians normally see their patients from birth until the age of 18, although some may agree to treat patients into their early 20s, if requested.

He is the first specialist we saw when we received a crushing diagnosis of a genetic disorder for my then 15 year old daughter. I have never had a health professional taking so much time with us, I believe it was nearly 2 hours. He explained everything in detail and in understandable terms. He was so calm and reasuring and when he spoke to me alone he kept telling me everything would be just fine and not to worry and not to cry. He told me that my daughter was a beautiful young lady and we will figure this out and it will be all ok. He suspected there might have been a slight misdiagnosis originally - and he was right. He patiently had test after test performed and then refered us to yet another amazing specialist. This has been 1 1/2 years ago. I will be forever thankful to that kind, gentle and oh so smart doctor. Today I received a letter that he is semi retiring. What a shame. There should be more doctors like him and like the one (Dr. Kolp) who he refered us to. Thank you Dr. Migeon, everything you said has come true.A very thankful mother!
Only after seeing this doctor did I do research on him and found out he is the leading professional in this field. He took almost 2 hours of his time to mostly calm our fears and explain. He is very intuned with his patients anxiety and proceeds accordingly. Wow, what and awesome doctor and individual with so much knowlege
