Dr. Clay Eppright Nordquist, MD

If it this review was for Dr Nordquist and ONLY Dr Nordquist, I would give him 5 stars. Unfortunately, a doctor, now, is only as good as his staff and office manager. Nordquist Family Medical Center is managed by Sharon Nordquist (his wife). Sharon is more concerned with running her beauty pageant business (shares same office space as medical practice) than running their medical practice. I guess her business plan for her husband is to overload him with patients and double or triple book appointments. Wait times are ridiculously long and you only get about 1 minute of his attention. Dr Nordquist now visits multiple local nursing homes and rounds at South Lake Hospital in his “free” time, which is stretching him razor thin. If you need anything more than routine physicals or basics meds, don’t waste your time with this office. It is truly a shame to see such a talented and caring doctor have his practice and time managed in to the ground by a short-sighted “office manager” who… genuinely seems more concerned about beauty pageants and her two little rat dogs (which by the way spend the day in the Dr’s office along with a loud parrot) than taking care of her husband’s patients and his office.

Usually wait between 60-90 minutes. They never call my prescription refills in which warrant another 45 minute trip to the office demanding a written script so that I can make sure it’s getting refilled. Completely unprofessional and incompetent staff

I have been fighting cancer since 2014. Some of you might not know that 5 weeks ago I had a small tumor removed and yes, I am back to getting check-ups every 3 months. Yes, we have moved around but I have been going to the offices of Dr. Clay Nordquist for over a year now and my insurance company, United Health Care advises me that I need an authorization for my pain meds (Lyrica). I was on opioids for over 3 years & was able to get off the opioids with little help from my doctors. The only medication that seems to work is Lyrica. UHC has provided me with an on-call nurse to assist in getting all my meds on the same schedule, she contacted the doctor & advised them exactly what was needed and today, I get a call from a nurse at Dr. Clay Nordquist's office. She advised me that per the doctor's policy, they do not do authorizations. (Something that I thought was the responsibility of the doctor). She indicated that she could recommend a pharmacy; (3 times the distance from the… Walgreens that I have been using) that would do the authorization for me. When I asked if the doctor was available, she stated that the doctor doesn’t talk to patients on the phone, again, something that I thought was part of what doctors do. The nurse indicated that there are only 2 nurses for the practice, and she was only going by what the doctor’s policies are. If this is the policy of the doctor, I am going to have to change doctors and I advise anyone that is going to him also look for another option. My rating for the doctor will be posted everywhere I can post. If there is anyone out there who has experienced with others, please let me know what other options I may have. I do not need this from a medical professional; if that is what he is.

This office lied to me and wasted my time and my money. They trapped me and told me to wait until i run out of my prescription and then call them and they will refil it. Well what did they do. told me oh hey go get this work done and come see us again. All the while blaming me for telling them that I was making the story up. Completely bogus.

His wife and staff are the biggest problem!

Great doctor! always helpful and kind. His staff are very good and it is easy to get appointments. Overall I have been very satisfied with Dr. Nordquist.
