Dr. Clayton Austin Peimer, MD

I had a referral from my regular Dr & when I went for my appt. This Dr was nothing but nasty & rude. He told me forthright that he did not want to treat me. (No explanation) and even though my hand was swollen like a pumpkin from falling on it, he said to go somewhere else. My own Dr referred me back to him a second time & they had me in an exam room for almost 2 hrs before he walked in with a recorder in hand, saying he would record in front of me, that there is no charge & he does not want to treat me, do not refer me back. I was so confused, my Dr was confused and I had to go out of state for treatment on my hand. I called a lawyer & was told that perhaps I reminded him of someone he didnt like and that as long as it was not life-threatening, a physician has the right to refuse tx for any reason at all, even if he is the only specialist in the area. The rest of the staff was great. The Dr was a class A jerk.

Long wait to obtain appt.(6 weeks)Short wait time at appt.Curteous, professional staff.Thorough, informed diagnosis (after numerous tests).Answered all questions kindly and professionaly and provided options and direction for further education on diagnosis.Poor personal follow-up. Staff only service and telemeds.Would recommend to any patient.

I find Dr. Peimer to be a very straight forward and knowledgeable doctor. He conducts an examination, reviews tests, provides feedback and education about the condition. He does not encourgage surgery as only way to treat - that is, he is willing to treat condition conservatively if appropriate.

After surgery I wanted to ask questions but he was in a hurry so no answers.If your pain is not controlled his office is not sympathetic at all.I was lucky my regular doctor helped me.My hand turned out beautiful and I am very pleased with results.His bedside manner and staff could use some training in empathy.
