Dr. Cordell W. Watson, DO

I went in for a standard yearly physical, which are free through my insurance. The whole time I was with Dr Watson I felt rushed. I also didn't feel like he was personally invested in my health. During the course of my visit for the physical, I asked him a couple quick general health questions. My questions only took a couple minutes to answer. A week later I got the insurance document about the visit. Dr Watson charged me for both a physical AND a second office visit, just because I asked general, quick questions and got general, non-helpful answers. If I wanted to be charged for a second visit, I would have scheduled another appointment. I also would have expected not to feel so rushed. Then, at the end of the visit, he was sure to self-plug by handing me a copy of a short article he wrote. I also had blood taken to be tested. In the past, my doctors have always done a full array of blood tests with my physicals (CBC, metabolic panel, lipid profile). Dr Watson only had a lipid… profile and glucose test done, which was a bit of a disappointment when I was expecting to see more comprehensive health information (especially as I know the state of my health has worsened). Over all, I felt he was in it for the dollar, and not in it for my personal wellbeing whatsoever. I would NOT recommend him to anyone.

I found Dr Watson to be a remarkable physician and human being, never talking down to the patient, encouraging the patient to self-educate clear to a very high level, never insisting on textbook treatment of illhealth involving denying the reality of whole-patient individual experience of illnesses and injuries. Possibly this is because he is a DO rather than an MD.

I am a 40 year veterin of Nursing [R.N.] and found that my mother was in the process of dying [low hematacrt] and was taking her to the hospitl, but she insisted to see Dr. Watson. I came in and said "My mother is dying NOW". The staff knew me and acted quickly, but the Dr. kept us waiting and scarcatically asked me if I had performed a "crit" test at home. She was pasty white, with almost white mucous membranes within her mouth. He FINALLY drew a crit and sent it in regular time [not critical] and sent me home. My father was actively dying at the same time, so we put them into bed together. Three days later, my just before my father died - this doctor called and told me "Your mother is dying and needs to go to the hospital immediatly!" I told him "No s hit Sherlock!". She had mesomyloma and we took er to the hospital immediatly after my father died the next day. She died 3 months later.
