Dr. Cori Kristen Millen, DO

Please be advised. After waiting a couple months to be seeing at Summit Headache and Neurology Institute for my appointment (not even with the doctor) and being an in-network provider of my insurance I was told that I need it to pay out of pocket full cost if I wonted to have my appointment that day, at the front desk of this provider. They are really clear that if you don't show up to the appointment for any reason, including a massive headache/migraine, they are going to charge you $150.00. They consider their time very valuable and I don't disagree with that, is just difficult to understand why they think that your time and money is not. If you are suffering, maybe this is not the place for you.

She and her staff took the time to listen to the treatment I had received and then provided recommendations.

Dr. Millen has a portal and she personally takes time to follow up with her patients questions or her staff does. I just moved back to Colorado and will drive extra 25 to 30 minutes to see her. She was the only doctor who took the time to send me for test to find my diagnosis.

Dr. Cori Millen was recommended to me because of the importance I place on understanding all I can about my condition and treatment. She is very open to patient partnerships rather than the traditional doctor/patient relationship. Dr. Millen explains what she can (it IS neurology - not the easiest to explain to the layman) and always makes sure I am comfortable with and engaged in the direction we are heading. What has become most important to me is her tenacity and determination to improve or rid me of my chronic imbalance. She always has new questions and ideas and with each new piece of information, she formulates and calibrates treatment approach. Dr. Millen holds UCNS certification to treat migraine headache. Her professional curiosity about the relationship between my migraine and balance disorder is readily apparent. She always makes sure that treatment for one wonâ??t exacerbate symptoms of the other. If Dr. Millen doesnâ??t cure me, at least sheâ??s given me hope.

I do not know what made the others write positive reviews, but the ones who said you get treated like "sheep" with lack of compassion are true. I have waited on EVERY visit about 45 minutes to spend 3-5 minutes with her. All you get are a list of drugs to be given, and then not even given a smile. EVER Oh, but if a lot of money for a treatment is involved, she was only 15 minutes late. Never follows up.

After struggling through neurologists and other doctors, Dr Millen has changed my life. She listens. She truly does. And she has so many layers of help she can give you for headaches - I don't think she would ever say "I don't know what else to do" like my old neurologist has. Wonderful, caring doctor! I've been struggling with headaches for years and I've finally made progress with getting them under control with her help. She has lots of suggestions and options to try. Getting in touch with the doctor through their message portal is easy and she has always responded quickly. The office staff is friendly and helpful. My consult with Dr. Millen was the first time I have ever had someone really listen to what symptoms I have been experiencing. My first appointment was over an hour long but Dr. Millen reviewed all of my symptoms when when they started 4 years ago and I finally feel like we are making progress. I would recommend Dr. Millen to anyone that is having trouble controlling their headaches.

If you like doctors and practices that treat people like sheep, don't follow up, are aggressive and rude about billing, and punitive, this is the practice for you. I don't doubt Dr. Millen's credentials but it has been a painful experience on most interactions with her or her staff.

May be an excellent doctor for headaches, but never received a diagnosis for seizures. Did receive diagnosis for sleep apnea, which turns out is borderline. After seeing a real sleep specialist, it turns out I didn't need a CPAP nor the oxygenmachines that I have been paying for now over 18 months. So if you have headaches, I am sure she is a trained doctor, if you have trouble sleeping, go see a trained sleep specialist.
