I’d always thought about medicine because my grandmother was a physician. She was one of the first female physicians in the country, graduating in 1916. She told us many stories of her patients and her dedication was clear. But I didn’t have the confidence to try for medical school, becoming a software engineer. After 10 years, I visited a missionary friend in Haiti, whose nurse friend inspired me to try to switch careers to medicine where I could make a direct difference in people’s lives.
At Core Physicians, I work together with my patients as a team to provide information and advise to help them make informed decisions about their health. I am a strong believer in preventative medicine and have a special interest in psychiatry since people’s mental health has such a huge impact on their lives.
