Dr. Cosmas Chris Giallourakis, MD

I had a very positive and informative colonoscopy with dr. Gialliourakis at the MGH digestive health unit. He was very accommodating and explained every step of the process, anaesthesia and potential after effects. I am a patient with a high risk for colon cancer by family history. Felt very safe and well cared for by himself and his staff and assistants. I highly recommend the digestive health unit; they have it down to a perfect science!

I have been a patient of Dr. G as I like to call him for more then 8 years with inflammatory bowel disease. He helped me get on regime that has been working great after many doctors had a difficult time. He returns phone calls and emails promptly and genuinely cares. I have recommended him many times.

Dr. Giallourakis was just great. He spent plenty of time with me and ultimately diagnosed my problem after I had seen several doctors.

I recently went for a Colonoscopy at MGH. The nursing staff was terrific. They prepared me and wheeled me to the procedure room. We waited with the IV ready for 45 minutes for Dr. Giallourakis. The nursing staff had him paged and tried several times to find out where he was. When he finally came in, he never offered an explanation or apologized. He was not wearing a white coat. He was dressed in jeans, a regular shirt and shoes. He is young and in my opinion, arrogant. I have no doubt that he is exceptionally knowledgeable in his field but in my experience, I was not impressed.
