I was very satisfied with Dr. Bortuzzo. She was very clear in explaining the procedure, listened to my history and concerns, was respectful, and supportive. The treatment went well, on schedule, without any problems. Excellent physician.

My mother had colonoscopy done by Dr. Bortuzzo. She said she woke up during the procedure and was in extreme pain. The doctor initially said that my mother simply wasn't telling the truth. Shortly after, I noticed my mother's IV was on a different hand then where it was before the surgery. When I mentioned that, the doctor admitted that there was an issue with the IV but it was taken care of BEFORE the procedure. Before we left the hospital, we spoke to the anesthesiologist, Dr. Sharer, and he said the IV issue happened during the procedure while the tube has already been inserter. He basically contradicted Dr. Bartuzzo's account of what had happened. However, Dr. Sharer wasn't much better and said that she shouldn't have felt pain because they stopped sending air through the tube (like that's the most painful part) and also accused my mother of lying about being in pain. I understand doctors can make mistakes but a cover up and lying is unacceptable and in my opinion criminal.… They couldn't even get their story straight about what happened. Also, when I started questioning what had happened. Dr. Bortuzo became belligerent and literally asked me what do I do for work as if my profession prevented me from being concerned about my mother's health.

Colon cancer runs in my family so it is very important that I be checked regularly. My primary care physician put in the order for me to have a colonoscopy. It took me 2.5 months to get an appointment with Dr. Bortuzzo, to first have a "meet and greet" so that she could determine if I was "ok" to have a colonoscopy. They sent me 3 text messages and 2 email reminders to confirm my appointment and to make sure I would be there. I responded to all reminders saying I would be there. They also phoned me to ask if I would be there but also informed me that since Dr. Bortuzzo was a "specialist" that she would be late. I said that maybe I should come later, but they said no. It seemed very strange and unprofessional. Long story short - I showed up for my appointment on time and the receptionist looked mortified as she told me that Dr. Bortuzzo had just phoned to say she was at the dentist...really? There were other patients waiting as well. Unprofessional and Arrogant! Run!

I saw Dr. Bortuzzo for many years. I had a good experience with her, intitially. I used to enjoy her funny up front personality and she seemed to care. After about 7 years of being her patient, she wasn't the same nice lady anymore and was rude and sometimes very hurtful for no reason. I left in tears a few times because I did absolutely nothing wrong. The lady I used to feel comfort in, was now someone I wanted to avoid. I stopped seeing her about a year ago because of her insensitivity. The last thing a sick patient needs is a rude physician. It's sad because I really liked her at first. She was such a nice woman. Whatever happened to make her less caring and so mean, is very disappointing. Her bad days far outweighed her good days in the end. I wish her well, but she isn't a good fit for me aymore.

I've been seeing dr. B for awhile now. Just love her no bull attitude, she doesn't sugar coat anything. Tells you like it is. Which I appreciate. And she has such a great heart. Love Dr B...

Put me under while I was asking a question, rude, dismissive, unhelpful and would not return calls.

It seems all she wants to do is the expensive procedures and have you wait 60 to 90 days to go over your results even if they are adverse. Office is very disorganized under "The General" as she calls herself. "I give the orders". You have to beg for exam results and if you don't call her office they WILL NOT try to contact you. I showed up for a CT at 6:00 AM and was told they could not do it because her office did not get it precertified. Was told they were going to call in a script. I called CVS for three days. Called her office back, "OH didn't we call that in?" If you value your life find someone else to stick a camera up your butt!

Upon calling for first appointment, the lady scheduling was rude. I didn't understand the referral process. Some doctors will schedule even if they haven't received referral others need paper copy in the office. The lady acted like she didn't want to explain the process. When she finally did schedule me, the earliest appointment was 2 1/2 months out! Three weeks after I scheduled I received 2 texts, 2 emails and a phone call telling me the appointment needed to be canceled and someone would call me to reschedule. But no one ever did, they just calling, texting and emailing the same message over and over about every 10 minutes. Finally I called their office and had to wait on hold 10 minutes for a person. At thus point I told the lady I just wanted to cancel and find another doctor. I attempted to explain my frustration with the office and scheduling procedure and she couldn't have cared less. She interrupted me talking and all but hung up on me.
