Dr. Cristina Perez

I had to switch doctors after my first pregnancy because of complications that came up after delivery. I knew the next pregnancy needed to be at Texas Childrens since they would have the specialty teams to deal with both me and baby should something come up again...and sure enough, I ended up with placenta accreta. Dr Perez took me on and guided me through the accreta diagnosis then a risk of pre-term delivery starting at 20 weeks when I started dialting. She's the best. She's busy (as all doctors are these days), so if you don't have questions, you'll be in and out of your appointment. She, along with Dr Fox, handled the delivery (c section and as discussed possible hysterectomy that became necessary) very well. My scar is very faint already 9 months post op. Dr Perez really makes you feel like she cares and stopped by to check on me daily afterwards while I was recovering. My previous doctor was also wonderful, but I would definitely recommend Dr Perez at Texas Childrens and… will continue to see her.

Dr. Perez failed to provide adequate care for me during pregnancy, delivery and during a postpartum illness. She did't respect my birth plan. Since Dr. P was extremely busy, she forced me to push baby prematurely, resulting in 2nd degree tear & a life-threatening ovarian vein thrombophlebitis. To speed up delivery, she tried to falsely claim baby distress and use interventions - forceps and vacuum. I ended hospitalized for 6 days for OVT and she once again she mistreated and delayed treatment.
