FIND A DIFFERENT GENETECIST!!!!! Since exercising my first amendment right here has caused retaliation, let me be crystal clear about my exact experience. Let me start by saying that the office manager called my Primary Care Provider to complain about this review and caused a rift between me and my PCP. I may have to switch my provider now. Before the appointment, I called to ensure that I would be having a genetic test conducted at my appointment, as it was a far commute and difficult with the functionality issues I face. I was ensured I would be tested that day. This turned out to be a lie. I arrived an hour and a half early. I asked if I could not be seen early to please inform me, so that I could get lunch. Despite the doctor's being a short distance from the lobby and having access to phones to respond to the receptionist, I was left waiting for the whole time without response. Next, the doctor picked my brain about my childhood traumas for two hours, instead of asking me… even a single question about my functionality issues and how they could be related to a genetic issue. This is despite me informing him that both my mother and a psychologist had me tested for having noticeable functionality issues as a child, and the results were what would be considered in modern times to be a sign of potential genetic issues. I was denied the test, I was ensured I would receive that day as a result of this interaction. The doctor then proceeded to recommend that I go see two doctors over 200 miles away, despite my admitted functionality issues and associated financial issues. There is no foreseeable time period I could make it that far for any reason. He said this was because the test was very expensive and needed further consultation to justify administering the test. I complained to the office managers receptionist, and she never called me back to hear me out. She saw my review and complained to my Primary Care Provider, as I mentioned, which has caused me serious issues. The lead geneticist Dr Curry also never attempted to reach out to me nor alleviate the situation. Be very careful with these people, and as I said before, FIND A DIFFERENT GENETECIST!!!!!

PLEASE FIND ANOTHER GENETECIST!!!!! If I could give zero stars, I would. I was cleared by my insurance for an evaluation and testing. I was denied testing because I was foolish enough to trust another doctor. Every doctor for the past 32 years has "known the answer" after a single conversation, each with a completely different answer after being provided the same information. This was no different! I didn't have the opportunity to work with Dr. Curry, which is who I thought I was seeing. Dr. Lu is just as presumptuous as every doctor that has ever evaluated me. How dare he take my opportunity to have concrete answers once and for all!!!! Again, I was already authorized for the testing. So I was pretty much told that he could help me but won't. How sick can you be to "dangle a carrot" in front of someone like that, just to take it away?! The fact that it has taken me a day and a half to process what happened should be more telling than anything. I thought he was getting 2nd and 3rd… opinions for evaluation purposes. Turns out he already made a firm determination and just wants to validate his opinion. Will he even allow the testing if they disagree with him? IT WAS ALREADY APPROVED!!! I don't have any faith in this doctor nor this office. I will definitely be seeking a second opinion. I can't believe I fell for this again and trusted a doctor with more information than he was qualified to evaluate. He may be willing to risk my well being and potentially my life for his opinion, but I am not! I will never make this mistake again!!!!! God help me to never make this mistake again.

I want to be just like Dr. Curry. She is so passionate about getting to the bottom of my son's issues, and she's so awesome
