Dr. Cynthia Lynn Medina

My mother has been a patient of hers for YEARS, in the last year or so her "bedside manner" has diminished greatly. She would berate family members who attended appointments because my mom was going thru her Chemo treatments and was having a hard time remembering things (she almost didnt make it a few times). In one of the last appointments she got mad that my mom didnt keep her medication list on her (i keep it as well as the family member who takes her to the dr. appt) and she got mad and walked out of the appointment. Nothing else said. Then this last appointment she wanted to take my mom off one medication her CARDIOLOGIST had prescribed her to keep her from going into heart failure, claiming that was the reason for her dizzy spells. Mind you we spent an hour w/ the cardiologist just last week going over her dizzy spells to see if it was her BP. Then she continued to berate my mom for "not communcating" with her when she walked out of the office before anything could be said. … She DOSEN'T communicate with any of her other doctors and just yells at patients. That is NOT how you treat patients at all. I get having a bad day, but this has been the last few appointments had with her and after looking at her reviews, my mother is not the only one being mistreated by her. the staff there is amazing, and fantastic and perhaps other dr's in the group are good but Cynthia Medina is a joke.

doesnt listen, does what she wants she didnt put in for a cholesterol test in my blood work. upon my return visit I asked about it. she said it would cost me $300, to which i replied i shall pay for it. She still didnt order it. I had to get the order from another doctor. the cost to me was ZERO with my insurance. oh yeah i have high cholesterol. her assistant ordered my blood pressure rx 1/2 of what it is & what she ordered previously. called twice, left 2 voicemails. clearly doesnt listen to voicemails & the pharmacy at Frys said they could do nothing. I still dont have the correct dosage in all of 2023 & 2024

She has always been very professional I love her

Dr. Medina took me out of the portal and denied refill of my diabetes medication. She did not call me or notify me that she was going to do that. I was upset with her and her assistant because they weren't returning my messages and phone calls. I was trying to get a sedative for an upcoming MRI and I was panicking. I finally sent a message stating that I was hurt and disappointed that she didn't care enough to help me with my MRI anxiety. I told her I was going to look for another doctor, but I still had one more appointment with her and figured I would wait until then. Big surprise when I found out I wasn't her patient anymore. CVS called me and told me she wouldn't refill my meds. I've filed a report with AZDO medical board. She could have at least let me know before I ran out of meds. My advice steer clear of this uncaring, condescending, rude doctor. She shouldn't even be practicing.

I thought I was imagining that she was as rude as she actually was. But after reading all the reviews, I can see that this doctor really has a problem. Condescending. Agitated. Frustrated. Defensive. Amazing. Why do they keep her there?

Just plain rude. My daugther & I could not believe how she treated us. I just sat their in amazement. I hope the next time will be alot better.

On my 1st visit to Dr. Medina, she said I should not take my acid reflux meds. I had second thoughts but she was a Doctor so I did as she requested. I have a history of GERD and ulcers and I became very sick in days from not taking my meds and then realized I had made a horrible mistake in listening to her. Don't make the same mistake I did.

To say I am beyond shocked is an understatement of the unprofessional and hyper aggressive behavior of Dr. Cynthia Medina when I began asking questions of her during a consultation. First: I had received notice from my local pharmacist that I had a new prescription, surprise one. The office assistant didn't call me, I had to call them and no details except "take these" were issued. When I asked about this, she first tried cover for the staff and then implied that since "she wrote the prescription at 11pm on a Saturday night..." I should be grateful for such quick service. Excuse me? I picked the prescription up at 10am on Saturday morning and she missed the point that I should have been notified first from her office, and no, she didn't have to call, after all she "treats heart attacks, cancers, people with stokes, etc..." Sarcasm was not appreciated. Second: When asking her about my blood cells being larger, she became condescending, and that this was why she was referring to a… hematologist. "She doesn't know" and wouldn't even give a hint of possibilities to ease my mind. When my daughter intervened to prevent further escalation of Dr. Medina's behavior, the hyper-aggression behavior was turned on her. My daughter used the term, "mame" and was corrected back-to-back, "Doctor" three times, and interrupted her about every four words and began saying that I had given her attitude. Attitude for asking questions? To make it even better, I tried to explain to her that I had been told I had on a Friday I had "abnormal blood cells" and needed the referral and that we needed to talk. This almost brought up a panic attack and I told her so. Instead of understanding and even an apology, she LITERALLY said, if I "didn't like how the business was run, I was free to find medical care elsewhere." Yes, I am finding medical care elsewhere. My insurance company has notified me that according to her claims, I am paying for items she told me were covered, that I had hypertension, when if fact, according to the Mayo Clinic's stats, I am not. The fact I was present when a major HIPA breech occurred in their lab, where a client needed his lab results for court and had received someone's else's results, listed with him is bad enough. To sum it up, My experience was a complete disaster and seeing her reactions at any hint of questioning her word, was insulting. Her arrogance, condescending and rude remarks and total lack of bedside manner and listening non-existent. She might be wonderful if you just need a 3 second throat exam, but question her on it, expect a whole new side of this professional that is far from professional.

Staff very rude, doctor spend three minutes with me. Didnt even listen why I came. My second appointment nurse was there because doctor was busy. Bottom line never going back to her.

Dr. Medina now practices in Glendale, AZ. Wish I'd read these reviews before wasting my time with her. She has the worst "bedside manner" I've ever experienced. She interrupted me every time I tried to speak, and told me I was "interrupting her thought process" when I did speak. She also disputed a medical condition which my gynecologist had treated me for, saying "she'd never heard of such a thing." HORRIBLE DOCTOR.
