Dr. Cynthia Elaine Parker, PsyD

Disappointing and hurtful experience with this provider. Worked with this therapist for 7 years until she decided to leave her private practice mid-pandemic to pursue “business psychology” to work with elite CEO’s who could pay more for services. This termination was immensely disrupting (as I imagine it was for the majority of her clients.) It caused me to experience some of the most severe symptoms I have ever had, period. I was promised by Dr. Parker she would reach out to me and notify me if she ever returned to private practice. After becoming aware she had returned to private practice last year, I reached out to inquire if I could again return to working with her given that I was still struggling and had still not been able to establish care with a new therapist over the last 4 years since she terminated. I was told she would not be accepting clients and her books were “full” for the foreseeable future. Worse—a close friend informed me they had in fact been able to reach out to… her that same week and schedule a new client appointment. The whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. This provider went from going out of her way to ensure I knew she cared about me as a client to quickly thereafter becoming frustrated I was “demonizing” her and forbidding me to talk about any transference I was having. Lack of patience. Very disappointing. I am in therapy currently continuing to try to deal with the effects of the last two years or working with this provider and the subsequent termination that left me abandoned, without an appropriate transfer of care, a paucity of potential referrals and essentially in crisis. I wholeheartedly would not recommend this clinician to others due to her flighty behavior, unpredictability, emotions that seep into sessions causing clients hurt and her dishonesty, even in the present day. A 60-year-old adult woman lying to a past client instead of being honest? Unacceptable. She continues to cause me confusion and trauma by not just being honest about why she cannot return to working with me. Look elsewhere. There are other clinicians I would recommend much more than Dr. Parker.

Disappointing experience. Could have helped more, but seemed more concerned with next clients instead of what I was saying. Wouldn’t recommend.

This website, "vitals.com" is a scam. The creeps write bad reviews and then tell the provider they can have the review removed for a fee. It's extortion and causes good providers to suffer and patients to be deprived of accurate information which they really need. Dr. Parker does not do "evaluations," the locations and areas of treatment are wrong, and other sites rate her highly. It's amazing that this site has been allowed to stay active for years.

Not exactly interested in the patient. Condescending in approach. Judgemental in attitude.

When I contacted the doctor for an evaluation for a family member I received a prompt return call and I was clear what I wanted the appointment for: evaluation. When I brought the family member in I asked the dr. if she knew why we were there, and she said no. I told her we wanted an eval and she said she wouldn't have enough time but we could follow up with another visit. This turned into another visit, and another, and another. During this time of care she was always very prompt about returning my calls and very helpful. After our care with her stopped, so did her ability to return phone calls. The psychiatrist has asked for a write up of her evaluation (which I also would like); however, I have left phone messages for the last 4 weeks, every week, and I have never received a response. I also found out that she is out of network with our insurance, and even though I gave her billing company our insurance information, no one bothered to let us in on the knowledge that all of… this (and its expensive) would be coming straight out of our pockets. All of this has left me with a very poor impression from this extremely unprofessional behavior.
