Dr. Dahlia J. Irby, MD

I am a former boxer who suffered many concussions and this so called doctor used my appointment to jam her political junk down my throat she is cold nasty and will never be recommended by me. To top it off i was told I was fine and nothing was wrong with me only to be later diagnosed by a REAL DOCTOR in cooper that I am in the beginning stages of early onset dementia.

DR IRBY ROCKS! NOT YOUR NORMAL NEUROLOGIST, SHE HAS A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND AWESOME BEDSIDE MANNER. BEST OF ALL, THIS LADY KNOWS HER STUFF! I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND DR IRBY TO ANYONE SEEKING ASSISTANCE FROM A NEUROLOGIST! THANK YOU DR IRBY FOR HELPING ME!

Dr. Irby was cold, impersonal, rude, dismissive and irritable. My wife has cognitive issues and when she was slow to respond Dr. Irby showed no understanding or compassion and simply barked out the questions in a louder voice. At what I later found out was the end of the session, she simply rose from her seat and said that she would make copies of the documents I had provided..then walked out of the office. After about 5 minutes an assistant came in and handed us our documents and ushered us out. We will not be coming back.

I tried to switch Neurologists to someone more local as my old Neurologist was inconveniently located and very busy. What a mistake that was ... Her office staff was fine, but the nurses seemed somewhat incompetent when taking my history. I had to spell Gabapentin ... they didn't seem to know what that was. Isn't that like a pretty common medicine in Neurology? As for Dr. Irby herself ... what an off-putting personality. Zero compassion, and basically told me that she didn't really believe the interpretation of the EMG I brought with me (done by one of the best Neuros around) and that even if I had what it said I had, she couldn't treat it. She told me, in a very snide attitude, that I had "taken a step backwards" as if I should have none. She tried to make me feel better by saying that my exam "wasn't that bad" and that if I "really felt so bad" that she could "give me more meds" as if she didn't really believe me or care. Totally awful experience all-around and a waste… of a copay.

Recently I went to see Dr.Irby as a new patient. Every time I tried to ask a question, Dr. Irby cut me off in mid-sentence. She made me feel like I was an intrusion on her day, and she showed me no empathy. Dr. Irby made me feel that she had an agenda, and I was not on her list. Spent more time on the computer, than trying to build a rapport with me. I will not recommend her to anybody.

We waited 2 and a half hours and finally walked out. NEVER again.

The doctor hardly ever took her eyes off her computer to ever look me in the eye while I was describing my symptoms. I never felt any kind of caring connection with her. I was there for multiple symtoms and just wanted some kind of connection with her, being it was my first visit.

I am thrilled to finally have a neurologist who does not make me feel like a hypochondriac or that my aches and pains are due to my age. Dr. Irby has sincere empathy for any problem that I may have. Pain and MS symptoms, of course being her main concern, but she spent a lot of time with me when my son passed away. Anything going on in an MS patient's life will affect their health and she makes me feel comfortable in knowing that. Dr. Irby's staff is also very friendly and make you feel like you're visiting good friends ... good friends that are there for YOU and are there to help.
