What happened to the pain docs? Their new male enhancement clinic - and an insurance company investigation - brings three local doctors back into the limelight A little more than one year ago, three local doctors and their lawyers made a settlement with the states medical board: The doctors would pay $20,000 each, attend more than 40 hours of training programs, and all would receive a public reprimand? from the board. In return, the board would drop the almost 80 minutely researched allegations it had filed against each doctor. The boards investigators proved that one doctor, Boris Pilch, had recorded in medical records that he'd injected medication into parts of patients bodies that do not exist. The board also alleged that the three doctors had, at their San Luis Obispo pain clinic called Interventional Pain Management, given patients drugs knowing they would have no therapeutic value? and had over-prescribed narcotics, tranquilizers, and other highly dangerous drugs. In… their settlement, Drs. Dale Kiker, Russ Levitan, and Pilch admitted that certain records were inadequately maintained? and that, if proven, the allegations constitute a basis for imposing discipline? Kiker maintains that the training he received as part of his punishment was sufficient in taking care of any problems that existed at Interventional Pain Management. The bottom line is that everyone in our practice, including me, tries to practice good, solid medicine and do whats right for the patient? he said. To this day, Kiker is still performing the same procedures at his San Luis Obispo office. In 2004, according to insurance company billing records, he billed patients thousands of dollars for the same injections and treatments that the Medical Board had investigated in the years before. Which could be why one of Californias largest insurance companies is investigating Kiker and Levitan. Pilch, as of last contact, is on medical leave.

The best pain specialist I've seen. I have seen many pain specialist in L.A., L.A. Counties, San Fernando Valley, Bev. Hills, Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey etc... If I had not for finally met Dr. KIKER, I most likely would not be here. I suffer from severe, chronic back pain. I recommend him to my friends and people I meet who share they suffer from severe chronic back pain.

If it were not for Dr. KIKER I would not be here and that's a truthful statement. Been to many Doctors In Bev. Hill, L.A., SAN Fernando Valley, Marina del Rey, Santa Monica till I found him. Great bed side manner, listen fully to you. The best thing is he wants to help. Not in it for the money but worth every cent they charge. Staff is friendly, offices are clean. All Doctors in practice and nurses are amazing. I recommend Dr. Kiker to my friends and to people I have just met. Only after they mention them suffer from chronic, severe back pain.

I really like this doctor. He is personable and takes time to hear my concerns. His treatment has been the only thing that has helped my chronic back pain, and I have tried several other specialists over the last 10 year. The whole staff is very friendly and polite, and the front office is very efficient, so appointments are on time, and followup is reliable.

he takes his time to get to know you and know what your issues are and will work with the best he can to make your pain go away. He is my favorite doctor in this office, he is very kind and when it comes to having a procedure he has amazing bedside manner. I always recommend him to all of my family and friends who are in need of help.

What a phenomenal physician!

comfortable...that's what Dr Kiker is certain you are or shall be shortly. He's very sharp and you always feel that if you need a change in your pain treatment you feel confident that he has 3 or 4 in mind before you even ask. He remembers patients from time to time and is willing to spend the time it takes to do the job.
