Dr. Dalia Teresa Olivier, MD

Dr. Olivier is THE most irresponsible physician, more or less psychiatrist, we've ever met. In just over a year under her care my wife was in the ER 3 times and became addicted to Klonopin. Dr. Olivier also left my wife on Trazodone when she was clearly having over 20 side effects including Hypotension which was getting worse and worse. My wife has one kidney due to a nephrectomy years ago and it's currently functioning at 17% - which may or may not be due to mistreatment by Dr. Olivier. It was functioning at 25% just a few months ago. The appointments were more about Dr. Olivier than about my wife. She never asked how she felt or picked up on how drugged my wife was. Before we went to see her my wife was doing very well. When it became clear that my wife was addicted to Klonopin - and having breathing problems - Dr. Olivier was no help what so ever. Shouldn't Medication Management mean watching, recommending and getting people off medication if necessary. Everything Dr. Olivier put… her hand to in our case was a complete and total disaster. If you're considering seeing her in a city full of amazingly qualified professionals...run screaming. Your life may depend on it. Just to add that my wife ultimately had to go into a Detox and Rehab facility to get off the Klonopin and we now have information that it should never have been given to her in the first place. My wife has PTSD and Benzodiazepines treat the symptom of anxiety and not the disorder. It can actually exacerbate the symptoms of PTSD. My wife even had suicidal thoughts during one withdrawal attempt at home and had to go to the ER. Doctors who hand out prescriptions like drug pushers need a good swat on the head because they are effecting patients and their families. Dr. Olivier is the worst possible example of this. Patient beware.
