Dr. Daniel Jerome Fernicola, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Fernicola's for 16 years. I have systemic lupus, which has attacked my heart pretty badly. Dr. Fernicola has literally saved my life many times. If not for him, I would not even be here to write this review. I have been through alot over 16 years with lupus, and through it all, Dr. Fernicola has made sure I know he is with me, he cares, he is doing all he can to help treat my heart problems, and no matter where this incurable, chronic, life threatening illness takes me, my doctor will be there right by my side. He is the most compassionate, caring, kind, and involved doctor I have even encountered. I have worked in health care 30 years, so I have seen alot. Dr. Fernicola is wise, well educated in cardiology matters, works with his patients, not on them, listens, which is a lost art, and takes the time to do what is needed to ensure his patients are well cared for. At times when my lupus and heart conditions have caused emergencies, and weeks, months… of problems, he has emailed back and forth, called to be sure I was ok, always answered my calls or emails right away, written letters when I needed them, contacted others to assist with my health and disability, and gone over and above what a physician usually does in our health system which is sadly becoming very impersonal. When Dr. Fernicola says he puts the patient first, he truly means it. Each patient is treated as an individual, and as one who is sacred, worthy, and precious. You cannot find a better cardiologist anywhere on the planet. I owe my life to him, and I am forever grateful. And by the way, I moved out of the area three years ago, and I now drive an hour and a half to see him. I will never give up my doctor, he is irreplaceable.
