Left there after an hour appointment and he wrote a one-sentence diagnosis and no treatment information. I asked for chart notes and was able to pick up some further paperwork a week later. On his internal questionnaire form which I received, he answered questions for me that he had not taken the time to ask me. I was not happy with his concern for me.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Kim since my rheumatologist retired- 4 or 5 visits. I get anxiety seeing new physicians due to negative past experiences. I’m so happy with Dr. Kim. I’m glad I gave him a chance. I have complex auto immune diseases & he is up on all of the treatments. I’ve never felt rushed by him & I have A LOT of questions every visit. He’s methodical & Dr. Kim is the most knowledgeable rheumatologist I’ve been to. I know I’m in the best possible care with him.

TLDR; zero empathy, driven by stereo types, belittling (as mentioned by others here.) I question the 5 star reviews here and wonder if they're fake. Visited Dr. Kim with my wife, hoping to solve for a recent increase in swelling and nerve pain that she has been having. In short, it was a horrible experience and one that left us hopeless. He essentially told her that she should push through the pain and build a tolerance to exercise. He didn't call her lazy as some others have mentioned, but it wasn't far off. My wife is clearly overweight, and I can tell you first hand that she pushes through pain better than I can, ran a hobby farm, and wouldn't think twice about doing any of the work I would do around a house. She's not lazy, but when she does push through the pain she ends up stuck in bed for the next week, unable to move or stand without help. To tell her to push through this is just horrible. Also, he has essentially written off our diet as poor because she is overweight.… Continuing to tell us about how we should reduce packaged foods and sugars, even though we mentioned multiple times that we don't eat like that. I know, because I'm the one cooking now that she can't stand in the kitchen long enough to put a meal together. We eat whole foods, watch sodium intake, take note of dairy and gluten heavy foods, etc. Yet he continued with these repeat statements and closed out our appt saying she has fibromyalgia and that other patients with it can push through and run 3 miles. The lack of empathy in Dr. Kim is borderline unprofessional, and I would never recommend anyone to him. This situation was bad enough that I was driven to write my first review in order to share my experience. To everyone else out there struggling to find solutions to their medical issues, and fed up with visiting Dr after Dr after Dr… repeating yourself and dealing with the ups and downs in quality…. Don’t give up. I wish you all the best on your journey, and I know there are good folks out there that are truly interested in figuring out these problems and not throwing in the towel or given up when one test comes back negative. We just have to find them!

I met with Dr. Kim after being referred by an emergency room doctor. He took my medical history, asked many questions and then ordered test to rule out systemic autoimmune disease. While laid up I studied autoimmune disease for the first time in five decades of life. A cursory study told me Dr. Kim ordered the most up to date, comprehensive test available based on symptoms including my using the words 'wonky feelings in my feet and hands" To me this meant he listened without judgement and was up to date on autoimmune disease, something I want in any specialist so I am confident of diagnosis. Dr. Kim also struck me as someone who would refer me to other specialist if he had questions he could not answer. He also did not need me to keep our followup appointment just to go over labs which impressed me since he could have made hundreds off that visit as I have very good health insurance. That in itself showed me he is in medicine because he cares about diagnosing and treating people to… positively impact their lives. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Kim and would refer him without hesitation.

I have seen Dr. Kim twice. My impression is that he is very thorough; he did not skimp on tests, but ordered all the labs to make a proper diagnosis. He listened to my feedback on a medication I had previously taken and revised direction accordingly. I’d say he is not chatty but is thorough, thoughtful, and careful.

He was so understanding at my needs and knowing that I have many other issues. He was able to give me a very detailed examination and he walked me through everything. I had been going to a lot of different doctors trying to figure out what could possible be happening and Dr.kim was so understanding at helping me get down to my autoimmune disease.

I was referred to dr Kim for a number of odd symptoms that I had been having for over a year. He didn’t even look over my new patient paperwork with all my symptoms before trying to tell me that I was making it all up and it’s just fibromyalgia. He refused to look at me during the exam, shook my hand like it was a dead fish as he left, and told me to change my diet and essentially called me lazy all in the span of 15 minutes for a new patient appointment. I did not felt heard or important to him at all but instead felt like he was treating me like someone seeking painkillers. I’ve gone back twice so far because I thought that maybe it was just me, but each appointment is the same. I came seeking answers and all I got was judgement.

Very poor bedside manner and has no insight into my previous medical history. Dismissive and called me lazy. Hostile and belittling.

I was highly pleased with my 1st visit with Dr. Kim today. As a new patient, there was quite a bit of paperwork. But it was definitely thorough! The support staff was friendly, efficient and helpful. Dr. Kim had many questions re my condition. He LISTENED to my answers and any additional questions/comments I had. He explained things well and made sure I understood. His office was quite busy, but I never felt rushed or put off. I look forward to a successful doctor/patient relationship with and highly recommend Dr. Kim.
