Dr. Daniel B Jones, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Jones since 2005 and he is the most compassionate, kind and not to mention , an excellent surgeon. I had life threatening issues after one of my surgeries and he saved my life and stood along side of me all the way and then some. Dr. Jones is a down to earth person whom I would highly recommend to everyone.He went over and above his call of duty..

Dr. Jones was wonderful. He answered all my questions and called me back when I had a question. My lap chole surgery couldn't have been done better. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Jones has performed surgery on me three times. When I was having a problem, I left a message with his office and scheduled a test for the next day. That evening, Dr. Jones personally called me, assesed what was going on and had me go to the ED promptly. Was admitted and had another surgery the next morning. One year later, when I was completely healed, I trusted Dr. Jones to perform another weight loss surgery on me. It has been a total success and I would trust him to operate again if necessary. He may be a bit uncomfortable at the bedside manner thing, but he knows what he is doing in the operating room and I am completely happy with my experiences with him.

I have found Dr. Jones to be nothing more that a caring, professional surgeon. His care prior to, during and post surgery have been nothing than stellar. I would highly recommend him as a surgeon.

Approved for surgery with another surgeon, but prefering Dr. Jones at UTSW, the wait exceeded the insurance change date at year end, so the office put me on the cancellation list and worked with me to get my surgery done without having to wait another year and another insurance company approval successful obstacle course navigation. Surgery went smoothly, and he listened pre and post operatively to my concerns regarding medication sensitivities. Surgically the proceedure was 100% successful. I lost ALL my excess weight within two years. There were emotional/depressive adverse effects that I m still chlleneged with almost ten years later, but I was challenged with them pre-surgery, I just self-medicated with sugar. Dr. Jones can be a bit smug and cocky...as ALL surgeons can, and almost have to be. The OR is NOT a proper venue for vulnerability. And he can take what he dishes out! He gave me both verbal and written notification of surgery risks, including waking with unexpected… incisions, and not waking at all, things many perceptive aptitudes are not ready to hear. I This gifted healer is dedicated to best outcomes, and improving future prospects for his patients. I also accepted the responsibility of utilizing the best skilled hands available in a teaching environment, where less skilled students could be trusted with instructed supervision. I have a new life today singing in professional Hawaii stage productions in part because of his expertise - and the ability to fit into costumes to look the part. We live in Maine and struggled for years to get an accurate diagnosis. We had actually googled to find help in Boston and Dr. Jones was recommended to us by another surgeon. We called cold turkey with no health insurance and he had us in within a couple of weeks. He was very caring and was astounded at the lack of treatment my husband had received. He had him scheduled for surgery within 3 weeks. The surgery changed his life and we are forever grateful for Dr. Jones!

Dr. Jones is an arrogant surgeon. He is dismissive and condescending to his patients.

What he told us in the examination and what occurred on my date of surgery were quite opposite/different. He assured a "laparascopic procedure" yet when I emerged w/a significant incision, Dr. Jones stated that my colectomy was always going to be "laparascopic assisted." Too bad he couldn't find supporting verbage in the BI brochure! Dr. Jones failed to remove all of my diseased colon, and on the post-op follow-up exam, he had only text book retoric to support his incomplete procedure. Since WHEN does a surgeon fail to remove ALL of the disease??? Buyer beware... don't expect Dr. Jones, Chief of Invasive Surgery to consider, investigate the whole body system he is working on!

Dr Jones chuckled or smirked at times about my questions about the surgery. His surgical recommendation was his specialty, go figure. I read the write up he gave me that he wrote about hernia surgery and it said the exact opposite from what he said at the examination. He never mentioned or explained that in the examination. In the office he recommended laparoscopic surgery and the write up he recommended for my situation to do classic surgery. They said they'd call to confirm the surgery date, they never did, but signed me up anyway. The first thing I hear was my packet in the mail. I canceled the surgery date and wouldn't recommend Dr. Danial Jones. He's a little bit too smug for me.

My experience with Dr. Jones has been very positive. He is a very good clinician and has a great bedside manner. I have lost over 200 pounds since he did weight loss surgery on me in 2008.
